DEA "investigating" state legislators in Montana who wrote medical marijuana law

This is for real. They are going around interrogating medical marijuana providers about what they know about specific legislators.
Like one legislator said, "this is McCarthyism all over again."
Part of the basis for this is a federal judge in Montana recently ruled that federal marijuana laws trump state medical marijuana laws. The once-booming (and granted, the system was being abused) medical marijuana industry in the state is virtually dead.
But now, it sounds like the feds are going after people who wrote the law to begin with.
It almost makes you want to vote for Ron Paul! (Well, not really).

Of course, when anyone threatens the Big Business of the failed War on Drugs they are going to be attacked, if not killed. The People obviously need to investigate the DEA and all of their Congressional support for industrial militancy and corruption of our government institutions.

Perhaps the Montana Legislature should begin an investigation on the DEA.

Oh, my goodness, Current splashed this across the top of their website! With my name on it!
This is important, because I think it was (and continues to be) a blatant attempt to harass state officials.

The 10th Amendment to the Constitution clearly trumps the feds here. Montana State can, and should, use State troopers or local police to arrest any DEA or other federal agents that harass state legislators. There is already numerous precedent for local police arresting federal agents that are acting contrary to a state law that's clearly within the realm reserved to the states under the 10th Amendment to the Constitution.

OK, here is the break down on powers I remember being taught as young child. States have ultimate legislative power over their own terrain, when in a State that State's laws hold precedence over federal laws in most instances. County laws supercede state laws, and these are enforced by our Sherriffs, who within their own counties are supposed to be the be all and end all of law enforcement within thier constituancy.
When did all of this change? I don't remember it being on a ballot thats passed thru my hands!

I was wondering the same thing.
It might be an issue with most local Sheriffs themselves. They no longer seem to understand this. Is it an educational deficiency?
I am wondering what is the typical Oath a Sheriff nowadays takes to hold office? Has it changed from the time when Sheriffs understood they were top police force in their jurisdiction?
I don't know why most Sheriffs seem to not know or understand the duties of the Office.

Here is a recent instance in which a State legislature (New Mexico) acted in a realm reserved to it under the 10th amendment and the feds tried to usurp the State's and county's jurisdiction.
The state law gave powers to the counties who could implement it at their discretion. One County did decided to exercise their powers, and when the County workers began implementing, the Feds threatened to arrest the workers and County Commissioners.
The local Sheriff assembled a SWAT Team to protect the county workers from any attempts of the Feds to arrest them. Needless to say the feds backed down.

Has there been a drop in cold and flu tablets or something, not enough kids doing Meth? Can't have non violent people in society, they might think for themselves or something equally outrageous.
That legislator was right, McCarthyism is very popular and goons are teaming up. This kind of propaganda warfare has long been the tactic for those increasingly worried about their lack of good policy and the people waking up to it. Need a distraction, start a war on something. "DRUGS" being a popular way to frighten the wits out of certain voter segments so they'll forget the important issues and allow their children and neighbours to be vilified, beaten, dragged off and detained under false pretences. Those bribes or "donations" as they are called, are really paying off for the "Medical" companies and other interested parties.

I think the people need to further investigate why all strains of cannabis are either illicit or so highly regulated as to make them economically unfeasible to produce (in the case of hemp).... Actually after investigating DEMAND deregulation of cannabis if not in all forms at least hemp form...
It's ridiculous, we can replace all our oil need with hemp, all our current plastics are made of oil and other chemicals...
And the oil, newsflash, is still a carcinogen.......
Plastics breakdown, degrade into microscopic particles and "out-gas"... They've done studies that have proven how detrimental certain plastics are from BPA, to Teflon.....
All these plastics are turning up everywhere, our main fertilizers in commercial farming are based on petrochemicals, it's not right, it's not healthy, it's downright irresponsible, and dangerous...
The "great pacific trash ring"..... Mostly plastic, do you really want to think of what that's doing to our marine animals? The dispersants, maybe oil itself, that leaked into the gulf has been shown to cause female fish to grow "testes" (google it, no lie).....
But cannabis, one of the worlds oldest medicines, and hemp, one of the first and certainly most versatile, and environmentally friendly textiles, rope, canvas, food (in seed form), oil, cloth, paper.... is illegal...?
It isn't even a conspiracy, greedy fucking corporations and business interests had it outlawed, and generations to come will be paying for it, even if we were to demand it's use NOW!!!
What kind of world do YOU want to leave to generations to come, because as it stands for most of those to come, and even ourselves it's looking BLEAK....

The DEA is trying to tarnish the writers of this legislation or strong arm them into dropping it. What is wrong with the Obama administration? After all, this IS one of his federal agencies.

Investigating, or intimidating? Silencing the voices of reason, has been a major part of the war on cannabis. Even if innocent of any crimes, it makes other's fear to speak. No one want's to be a casualty of war.

So, can someone give us the name of one singular person that is responsible for this investigation? There has to be one guy or girl somewhere that finally says, "Yes, do that." or "No, that would be going too far."
Who is the person? If we start putting names and faces on these assholes, we can start fighting back. Somebody knows that disagrees with it. Who is it?

the DEA and FBI have set up sting operations on legitimate clinics in CA for years despite state law. Even with two doctors prescriptions necessary to receive your cannabis these clinics were actually staked out as if they were trying to hide something. Government of and for the people need not exist, and government against and in control of the people must not exist.

Or they are part of the Koch revolution to ramp up "states' rights" fervor.
They put in puppets to get state laws get changed to make it harder for people to make a decent living, have schools for their kids, take real care of society. In other words, they turn back any and all progressive traditions. And they cage voters so they are more likely to keep electing the sorts of Koch sucking puppets who will continue with advancing the feudal system replacing democracy in America.
Let's not forget all the 'there should be a Constitutional amendment....' talk coming from more and more groups and regarding more and more issues.
Was thinking about the various means being employed to get people all up in their twisted knickers re "states' rights". Such talk appeals to the single issue fools who get exploited to put puppet pols in office in various states, but the usual hot buttons only get a certain percentage of people on board. The Kochs and their ilk need a broader approach to recruit more people.
If you control most state houses and state legislature, only the amendments you want will come to pass, further shoring up stranglehold on power and society.
My guess? The DEA war on state approved medical marijuana is more than just Big Pharma trying to keep their monopoly on selling us harmful drugs what pot would easily and safely replace. I truly think it is about stirring up even more sectors of society for the "state's rights" game that the Top Tier of the Hoarder Class will use to assure they get to change the Constitution their way and screw the rest of us more. They want enough crowds roaring for this and that change to the Constitution (after they get the majority of state governments in their greedy paws to assure outcomes on state ratifications) to finish off what is left of American democracy.
While pondering this theory, I also decided the radical polarization in politics and society is just another tactic for the same end. Decided what we are seeing is the 'Balkenization' these here (formerly) somewhat United States.
Or, I may have eaten some bad bread before this all hit me.

Screw states rights we need "individual sovereignty" provided a 3 limitations;
1) You do no physical harm to others...
2) You do no harm to the environment...
(by harm I mean dumping crude into the gulf, burning, using, or consuming petroleum leave the natural gas alone.... Quit strip mining the planet while your child is at school being taught that practice ended.... A few things, but if a tree has got to go here and there, as long as it isn't for large scale commercial logging... Because we are using trees faster than they can grow at this point..... probably a few other clarifications needed, but it could be done.... We need the "7 generations" view of the Native America Indians, if you can see your actions harming anyone between now and 7 generations ahead, you don't do it....)
3) You do not steal....
(Sadly the truth is the power elite have got most of their gains by stealing already, now how do we make reparations?)

The latest plan for Australian forests is a 90 year clear-felling turn over for native forests, because old growth forests and everything that lives within and because of them, must be such a terrible bloody thing for some to bare. Plus life and diversity probably keep getting in the way of mining every last inch of the ground. I guess some just see $ signs everywhere. They'll re-run nature documentaries on FOX to try and reduce the number of youth suicides and tell kids at school it's actually better for the forest to destroy it with bulldozers and burn the remains.
