it is not about getting high, but even if it was why would anyone care? No high individual cares to hurt another...maybe all the people of the world should get high first thing in the day. We know for certain there would at least be less cancer and less hate with an increase in smiling faces and random, striking thoughts.
this is about freedom of choice and the imposition of one perspective on all of us for no good reason but the perpetuation of profit and control for a few. Fundamentally this issue can be applied across the board. It just happens right now the issue on this post that brings the problems to light is the control of an unharmful, completely natural substance that should be available for all to use as they decide..

I have to agree with MrMetalloidMan. Legalizing pot is not a priority. Not even a realisitic request. Sure I will be voted down by the teens on here. Not that their opinion matters.

you will be voted down by way more than teens for the lack of compassion you offer not for disagreeing

Obama's answer in his petition the President was lame and full of misinformation. He thought he silenced the people on the legalization question.Yesterday is another example why why again I won't vote for this puppet of big pharma.

I don't think weed is such a priority with all that's going on in the country right now. The president has better things to do.

Gary Johnson, among others, is right that we should legalize marijuana. Several reasons include the help it provides cancer patients, the fact that it reduces chances of glaucoma, that it is the largest cash crop in many states that goes unregulated and untaxed, that it is no more harmful that alcohol.
Legalizing would free up a huge amount of financial resources to fight real crime, allow for more funds to go to other real problems like infrastructure, education and real health care.

Last I heard there are tent cities in California for people who lost their homes or jobs. This is infantile for a public servant. Millions are on food stamps and without jobs.Grow up.

Huh, all I heard was, "I don't care about people that are in jail because my motto is out of sight out of mind".
Tent cities are what happens when too many people move to an area with an ideal climate and laws, but not enough housing. They are a symptom of the problem, not the problem itself.

tent cities are everywhere because people don't have the means to pay their debts not because of a lack of housing...I have empty homes rotting up and down my street, mine soon to be added, and there are homeless families living in the woods.

It's obvious, 1: He's doesn't have the balls or integrity to tackle anything controversial, no matter how important to the country's welfare; despite the fact that many will say he's just being cautious before the election, and 2: His refusal to -end the war on drugs- (not just legalize marijuana), is de facto approval and sanctioning the illicit war on drugs profiteering by arms manufacturers, private penal corporations, and intentionally destabilizing Central & South America by fostering the illegal drug trade. The war on drugs is destructive to this country second only to the oil wars!

This doesn't really surprise me. Obama has no intention of legalizing pot or calling off the DEA thugs. Big pharma/big insurance owns him.

now. It's that hypocrit bastard's idea of change you can believe in.

That may be true. I don't doubt that's entirely what the future looks like
for all Americans. As the average American depends on TV to get real
news ( an oxymoron ) they're already too far beyond the 8 ball. By the
time they wake up and realize the USA is in deep shit, and is being run
by Organized Crime as a shodow govt. with a legitimate appearing facade
as window dressing, it'll be too late for them to resolve to do anything to
restore the rule of law to the White House, a place I've come to nickname
" the House of Dark Shadows " after the early 1970s TV series by that name. - 4 months ago

Obama is a "centrist republican"... Romney is going to use all his money to lead people to believe he actually acquired all the votes he needed to win the primary...
Then for the grand finally, Romney and Obama will do the the mirror dance, with such miniscule variations, if you pay close attention you'll notice their is NO OPTION, just which puppet you prefer to carry out the exact same thing...
And that's why I like Ron Paul, at least I know with him there will be some change, and legalized cannabis.... Fuck it, I grow everything else I've tried pretty good, not everybody will be able to grow as good, and BAM!!!, a job has been created.... Now of course the corporations will try to corner the market, but there shit will be sub-par at best......

lol. It's been building but they didn't even ask any drug questions. You know someone in the administration talked to someone at google and they agreed not to ask any of the questions. Obama doesn't want to piss off his base or give the crazy right something to scream about. He just forgot that the crazies are always going to scream about something and ignoring the most popular issue is going to piss off his base
