Komen Foundation pretends to change its mind. One corporate communications executive wonders: is the public stupid enough to buy it? | Scholars and Rogues

Read. The language. Closely. Contrary to what Komen’s highly-paid PR crisis hacks and gullible headline writers at newsdesks around the nation would ask you to believe, The Susan G. Komen Foundation does NOT promise to fund Planned Parenthood in the future. They promise to let PP APPLY for grants in the future. Applying and receiving are different things, as anyone who ever applied and got rejected for a job ought to know.

    • "We pledge - A guaranteed minimum of 90% of all international revenues (donations and merchandize) made by Pink Ribbon Inc. is labelled for international accredited research on the origins of Breast Cancer."

I know many believe that next to nothing actually goes to research. Just thought I'd balance out the opinions.

Is it not true that those products are designed and sold specifically to donate either in whole or in part the proceeds to fund breast cancer research, screening, treatment, etc.?

No, those things don't screen for breast cancer - they at least help pay for it.

      Screenings don't come free.

    • They are fucking with the wrong people here...both cancer and abortion are issues that we who live in slowly sinking middle class deal with in real honest down in the dirt terms...I am an expert on the cancer question and the fraud that continues to be foisted on Americans who are sympathetic and want to help...and it's not just Komen...hopefully many other organizations will now feel the scrutiny they deserve...the graphic is excellent...thanks...

    • Great post. Nope, I'm not that stupid. "Applying and receiving" are the key words here. Fire the president and the board!
