No one is advocating discrimination against you, certainly not Dr. Paul. Who has been the biggest champions of gay marriage, the states or the federal government? Who has been the biggest champions of medical marijuana, the states or the federal government? Who is the only Presidential candidate that would end the war on drugs and get rid of the Patriot act? Dr. Paul is the only candidate that does not want to discriminate against you.

JohnA:
Your first sentence is EXACTLY the reason I despise Ron Paul. Leave everything to the states. Do you really believe that states from Montana down to Texas and from there going east up to Virginia that any of those states is ever going to approve of gay marriage when 98% will not even approve equal rights in employment?
Obama has refused to defend the Defense of Marriage Act in the courts and has declared it unconstitutional. He also supports the Marriage Equality Act introduced by Diane Feinstein in The Senate. He ended Don't Ask Don't Tell and has enacted 36 different statutes and executive orders for the benefit of the gay community. There is no other president in history who can compete with his record of enforcing rights for the gay community--not one.
All Paul does is say leave everything to the states where we would be denied everything we have been working for since the Stonewall Rebellion in 1969. His laizze faire attitude of marriage not even being a legal entity would deny us the same benefits as heterosexual couples have in terms of filing joint taxes, the ability to adopt, receive our partners health benefits, receive our partner's SS benefits if the pass away and so many other advantages that straight people have that a way too numerous to mention. We have had to spend a fortune in legal bills to insure our estates and property go to each other and not some grubby undeserving realtive who has no right to it but would get it anyway just because they are related by blood. Whereas your wife automatically gets her inheritance.
Can you even imagine being banned from your wife's hospital room because your not a blood relative, denied the ability to make health care decisions? Of course you can't, but we have to, unless we spend another arm and a leg to protect our legal rights, which we have had to do. You just don't get it John, you just don't get it. - 4 months ago

Have you heard of The Patriot Act, the IRS, the TSA, The Department of Homeland Security was set up for one purpose, to monitor your life. The DEA, the ATF, the FBI, the NSA, the CIA, the Secret Service. you get on one of their databases you're tracked forever. There is an entire bureaucracy to watch what you and I say to each other over the internet, to see where we make bank transactions and to who, every part of you life is monitored, whether you want to believe it or not. And our tax dollars are paying for it. Is that what you want?

Ron Paul has convinced a lot of people that his belief system is somehow linear and exhibits some cohesive rationale for making the US a better place. But his governmental agenda would not show that cohesiveness when it comes to the basic rights of people which is supposedly his hallmark. Their is still a certain hierarchy when it comes to who would benefit from his agenda. And it does not bode well for those disenfranchised and voiceless groups who he believes do not warrant help or protection from the Federal government. That is not a vision of greater things to come for this country.

To be honest most of the pieces of legislation Paul had voted against involved government spending, which is something he is opposed to fundamentally. Just because he doesn't think we should continue selling our country to China it doesn't mean he feels the way this slanted report portrays him. He's not perfect but he's the only candidate who is consistent in how he votes and would bring about a much needed change in the way our country does business. In our recent past we've had an asshole and a pussy as the potus. I think it's about time we try a rational "dick." Maybe we can bring the focus back on the American people instead of pandering to other nations and paying for peace ransom and policing the world.

Voted NO on additional $825 billion for economic recovery package. (Jan 2009)
Voted NO on monitoring TARP funds to ensure more mortgage relief. (Jan 2009)

Voted NO on defining "energy emergency" on federal gas prices. (Jun 2008)
Voted YES on restricting bankruptcy rules. (Jan 2004)Yes, I agree with his stance on the wars and military spending. It's clear what he sees as wasteful are social projects to help people in need. We can eliminate military spending and still back-up these essential services but good ol' boy Paul is about denying the needy. What ghoul can look in the mirror after supporting Ron Paul?

RP," would bring about a much needed change in the way our country does business."
------------
I understand your viewpoint because I once thought like that. But, Obviously you're not seeing things clearly if you think electing RP alone, could make our "much needed change'. He has not the support of Democrats, and he has not even support of his own Party, as the GOP ignores and denigrates him from that side as much as any other.Bush barely gets elected by majority consensus, yet when in 'office', powers everything through with the full support of established and entrenched GOP, along with Blue Dog support.
Obama get elected running on 'CHANGE', elected by a huge majority consensus, has full support of Democrat Party, is obstructed by the 'right' at every turn from day one, making real 'change' nearly impossible.
And you actually think RP is gonna get in there and 'change' anything, a new direction all on his own, without the support of either entrenched party? How foolish is that?
If you really want to 'change' anything, first you are going to have to crush the republican Party. (or even the Democrats, but near impossible at the time). If we get the GOP out of the picture, different ideologies and voices, (like Paul's for instance), may stand a chance. Changing 'one representative' will do nothing, you have to change the Paradigm first. It's called patience and strategy.

Amber Alert has ultimately been a waste and only regards a very very small fraction of abductees under the age of 17. Even then, linking the 554 'saved lives' (over 10 years) to the use of the actual system is far fetched... It's more likely the work of law enforcement (for once). It's another money hole, that doesn't do as it promised. On average 2,185 kids are reported missing DAILY. And you're saying a program that finds 0.15 children daily, is worth it? I think it means we have other options to look at that will be FAR more effective and not such a waste of money. Who the fuck reads those signs anyway? 99% of the time they're off.
