Happy Birthday, Ayn Rand

Despite the fact it comes from Fox News, a good article I think to which Ayn herself would have no objections. Pretty much my own thinking through the length of it.

Greed has nothing to do with it.

Greed is the position that the lives of others and their rightful property can be and are your property. Ayn Rand teaches adamantly teaches the opposite - that each human being is the sole owner of themselves and can never be the owner of another human being or of their rightful property.

Rand's ideal human being works to achieve - not to beat other human beings, not to dominate. Those who hold to the position of greed, seek only to dominate other human beings and, as we've seen, all other life on the planet. Rand despised such people.

Many like to attach such persons to the label "capitalism" and to Ayn Rand's work. These are not capitalists and, as it happens, are precisely the type of human being she spoke against again and again. They do not seek the equitable trade of value for value, they seek value by any means possible to include stealing it and/or taking the lives of those who stand in their way.

These are not human beings of reason - they are savages.
