Karl Rove ‘offended’ by Chrysler Super Bowl ad

In the ad Eastwood says, “This country can’t be knocked out with just one punch, we get right back up again and when we do the world will hear the roar of our engines”.
But since the ad features Chrysler and the American auto industry which President Obama saved, even though Republicans were willing to see the American auto industry die, along with the million plus jobs that the industry creates, Karl Rove and Fox “news” see the ad as an endorsement of President Obama.

For those who think Chrysler was the only automaker bailed out and that the U.S. was the only country that did it:
"TOKYO (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Corp reported a stronger-than-expected quarterly operating profit, shrugging off a firm yen and the damaging impact of flooding in Thailand, and raised its annual forecast, helped by cost cuts and Japanese government subsidies."

Hey, I hate Rove as much as anyone on here, but does anyone here have any idea how much of the taxpayer's money was spent to bailout Chrysler? Money they used to pay corporate bonuses and union retirement funds. And they went bankrupt anyway, they did fail, they filed bankruptcy, they failed And now Fiat, an Italian company, owns them, for pennies on the dollar of what the American taxpayers paid. They aren't even an American company anymore. And they still owe us, the American taxpayers, more money than they will ever pay back. And it was our tax dollars paid for what was essentially nothing more than a re-election campaign ad, that cost $3 million. I hate Rove, but that was ridiculous.

The car companies are doing well but the city itself is in a fight fo it's life. The City of Detroit is trying to avoid Govenor Rick's emergency manager. Years of businesses moving out of the city, shrinking population, missmanagement of public funds, and other things have caused a financial crisis. Toyota is a foreign company and they weren't in financial trouble. That's the reason they move south, so they can screw their employees.
Too bad your auto workers live in a right to work state, the salaries and benefits are a hell of a lot better in union states.

What I meant was actually geared towards the spirit of the people of Detroit. Urban farming is making some headway there and they are determined to save their city. Their water was also privitized with exhorbitant prices being charged in taking advantage of their situation and they fought that too ( you never hear about that though.) I give them a lot of credit.

Clearly if a man or woman who works for a living and has all of the above benefits because they have the bargaining ability that a union provides you hold them in contempt If you choose to have to go to corporate headquarters get on your knees and beg for a raise , be my guest, but they would rather stand face to face with them and demand a share of the profits that their work created..I have no problem with that, but you obviously do.

Flat out fabrication.
Eastwood is and always has been Republican. He's already commented on this. It was intended to encourage Americans and celebrate the people that together made the automobile industry come back in Michigan. American workers, management, and the GOV.
It's what happened and it's the truth. Get used to it. Just because it does not help your agenda, does not make it not true.
The money was paid back, almost 2 million jobs were saved, and the support industries that would have collapsed would have lost millions more jobs. You know who made it political, you and your cohorts did. It was just a good American celebration ad until the idiots on the right went with their instincts and jumped all over it. Now it is political, and the objections of the right are not only ridiculous, but anti American. It and a whole lot more is going to be on the air for the rest of the year showing the right for what it is, a sham.
Stop saying the money was lost, and or spent, it is a complete lie.

Anything good for America is not good for Rove and the GOP. Pretty harsh stuff coming from the crowd constantly banging drums and waving flags at the drop of a hat and accusing those that disagree with them as being unpatriotic. Rove is nothing more but a hypycritical, corporate shill and shitbag. Talk about unpatriotic! Of course it's always about Obama, the sun shines, it's Obama, it rains it's Obama the wind blows it's Obama yada yada yada. Lets face it, it just eats the GOP alive that a black man is president.
