    • Fear not my children, as Supreme Soviet of the U.S.S.A, I will continue to kill capitalism and bring in a communist era that will make Joseph Stalin's rein look like Disneyland.

Right, I'd much rather have a capitalist system that hoards the wealth produced by the sweat of it's workers rather than pay their employees a fair wage. . I'd much rather have a capitalist system that OUTSOURCES American jobs and pays little to no taxes while accepting tax subsidies and tax credits from the US government. I'd much rather have a capitalist system that utilizes the infrastructure public tax dollars provide, yet are not required to support that infrastructure with taxes. I much rather have a capitalist system that can (now) legally buy any politician they want to see things their way. I much rather have a capitalist system that GIVES our manufacturing technology and billions of US dollars to overseas companies. I'd much rather have a capitalist system whose only strategy for growth is to force workers into a race to the bottom. I'd much rather have a capitalist economy that DESTROYS the US economic system every 10 years or so and makes the rest of us pay for it.

      Are you serious?

    • Excellent post, joe. I know a few heads that are about to spin off their shoulders about now with this post. Amazingly a few of those heads share the same pair of shoulders. A living breathing human socialist without realizing it. Oh well, that's another story. When we look at the lame attempts of the "free market" zealots to successfully privatize any one of these institutions, the ALEC and Koch-based charter schools, Florida State University (for one), a profit, private insurance driven health care system, they have all been abject failures. It makes a select few felons (Rick Scott is just one off the top of my head), very rich while the majority of the population suffers at the hands of it. Libraries, they don't need at all, since most don't read, one simply has to look at the collective waistline of Mississippi to know that Gyms are not high on the right wing's priority list, while school lunches indoctrinates the entitlement concept at an early age (don't mind that kids are falling asleep at their desks from malnutrition). I could go on, but the sane portion of the Community knows the benefits. If only others on the dark side could be enlightened.

The two headed free marketeer should arrive for it's nocturnal visit around 3:00 AM, so it may conduct a conversation with itself and leave it's droppings for us socialists to sweep away in the dawn, while it creeps back into it's coffin .

    • No argument there...

Except with the school lunches... They're about one step up from prison meals, which in many states consist almost exclusively of reprocessed (as in has already been used once in the free world, usually the oil and essential nutrients have been extracted) genetically engineered soy....

And public healthcare...... If I were a doctor (still working on it) I'd treat everyone I possibly could as inexpensively as I could.... But the medical service industries are ate up with corruption. From the deliberate drugging of our children, often children on medicaid thereby making the government subsidize it, to the overcharging for products doctors use in hospitals that cost a fraction if you were to buy over the counter; Tylenol, ace bandages, iodine, etc.... Which runs up insurance premiums for everyone...

I've actually known Dr.s to leave the profession over corruption, particularly those working with children in the psychiatric industry.... Too corrupt and evil...

(of course Dr. Joe thinks I'm "A threat to myself and others", so my honest opinion based on real world knowledge and experiences couldn't possibly count..... Got some psychotropics for me Joe? Some; Halidol, maybe some Seroquel, how bout some Zyprexa, wait no, I got it, I need some Lithium!!!....)

    • It's amazing how the 'right' have managed to make the words 'socialism' and 'liberal' bad words. Every democracy in the world have some sort of what the 'right' claims is socialism. The prime examples are the listed above. I guess the 'right' wants to privatize the highway system and bridges in the country. So I guess that would mean if you disagree with whoever owns that road or bridge, you wouldn't be able to use it or maybe have to pay a higher toll. This new GOP want to go back a feudal system where people are owned and the wealthy rule.

They're very good with "spin", they've always been good at twisting words and their meaning. I give them credit for that. The right-wingers learned well from the nazi's and other fascists how to lie, twist, and manipulate. Stalin and Mussolini must be proud!

    • 11. The US Military. - Prime example of socialism at it's best. Free housing, medical benefits, roads, schools, clothing(uniforms), etc.

Republicans wouldn't dare touch it. In fact they're always working to expand it.
      Ergo, Republicans are expanding SOCIALISM!

    • Those are 10 things people take for granted and are still needed. But hey, the right wing wants to take all of them away. School lunches? Jeeze, it's better to let the kids starve. I remember a couple of years ago on COUNTDOWN, one of Keith's worst persons was this lady in local politics ( I forgot her name and state) said "Why should the people pay taxes for school lunches. I mean, the kids could get a part time job at McDonald's and eat free there." What this stupid woman didn't get was that not all kids are old enough to get a part time job there or anywhere else. Besides, they are so many ADULTS needing a job there, teens would be fighting with them to get hired!
