My wife is traveling to Rwanda on a medical mission to repair heart valves in children and young adults in April. It will be her first trip and she has reserved a permit to go and see the mountain gorillas during her trip. I hope she will get very close and experience something magical.

Saw this video a while back, still does not seize to amaze every time. That gorilla could have easily torn any man in half, but lets his young satisfy their curiosity with their human observers.

The only experience I have had that comes close to this is on top of mountains in the Rockies, the mountain goats like to lurk and when people show up they suddenly appear. They're very friendly and unafraid of people. They want the food in your backpacks and if they can't get that, they'll lick your arms for your salt.

Here are people who will have an amazing memory to last a lifetime, and it's one of the good kind!! No therapy bill is a plus! But wow, honestly that is a potentially life changing experience of the best kind!

Amazing!
Really cool video! I'm in awe with tears of joy in my eyes from watching this.
Interestingly, the cameraman asked John *exactly* what I was thinking during this incredible moment with the gorillas:"What are you *feeling* right now?"
What a magnificent experience this must have been! Thanks for sharing with us, remanns.

You may be interested in a group started by Peter Gabriel that my friends are involved in. It is about species communicating with other species. They have apes that communicate with parrots etc through the use of ipads and other cool technology.

Just because they exist in different animal shapes & sizes than humans
doesn't mean they're incapable of great intelligence. Modern cro magnon
humans & their neandertaal cousins weren't that much different than these
guys before the E.T.s geneticly engineered some of our ancestors to have
experienced technological breakthroughs which led to computers & Internet.
Sir Arthur C. Clark & Stanley Kubrick created an interesting immage of that.
The movie theatres displayed it in Cinerama, also in the latter 1960s. - 4 months ago
