Western Australian Government plans to extinguish Native Title

Angry Aboriginal protesters have confronted West Australian Premier Colin Barnett in Perth, leading security officers to rush him to the safety of a waiting car.

The protesters delayed the premier's departure from Fraser's Restaurant in Kings Park on Wednesday after he addressed Noongar elders about a proposed $1 billion deal to settle native title claims in WA's southwest.

....

Noongar elder Richard Wilkes said he thought the deal would be illegal and SWALSC was falsely representing Swan River people who didn't agree with it.

"This land up here belongs to the Swan River people and we speak for it.

"This is a whitewash with a billion dollars," he said.

    • There are two tables. On one sits a billion dollars in crisp new bills. On the second table is a supply of food and fresh water. Now, your going to be stranded on a desert island and can only take from one table. Which table do you pick?

    • This is atrocious! Look not one of us is perfect, but hadn't we evolved as a whole far enough to see what these actions really are? I know our education system is a mess, but I remember learning better then this! I was always under the belief that the Aussie's had an education system at least vaguely akin to our own.

Instead of destroying our history, our heritage, our memories of a beautiful planet that our children will never get to see put your efforts and your greed towards finding a better path. A way to give mankind all the things they desire without loosing the world that makes all these wonderful things seem worth having to begin with.

In a dull grey and lifeless world, even your most sought after of gems will loose it's luster, and sparkle less as it's great memory fades. Your great wealth does you no good in desolate lands, but imagine the wealth you would have if your greed was focused on being the man who saves the world, if you develope the tech, the knowledge, the attitude it will take to make the world a better place for everyone. A new kind of wealth will amass around you in troves beyond the likes of wich any king in history could have imagined.

I think greed will crash the stupid system before it destroys the planet. The greed system is already straining under the weight. Economic collapse will force people to live within their means again and lead a more sustainable lifestyle.

      The big reset is coming.

"I think greed will crash the stupid system before it destroys the planet." I completely concur. After the last ten years the Australians should be more familiar with this then anyone else. There have been nearly biblical swarms of various insect species, rodents and other destructive vermin. They have explosive and unsustainable population growth, as they overconsume their resources the swarm starts, massive migratory armies of clear cutting, earth stripping, disease harboring... well you get the point... perhaps we have reached our natural tipping point, our moment of darwinian selection. Some of us will evolve and become stronger as a species, but most will be destroyed by their own shortcomings.

P.S. Whoever started playing the pipe organ halfway through that can be shot now... I wasn't preaching I swear!

    • And the beat goes on......

Is there something in the genetic makeup of people with European origins that makes us greedy, aggressive, and pigheaded?

Addiction to money is sadly more important to some than people and the land they live upon. The Western Australian Government has granted mining exploration for much of the state, now they are preparing to remove anything that may hinder mining all areas. People and the environment are obstacles to profit.

so unfortunate that this has been the case for soooo long...the value is not in the money, but in the people and the Earth and it is time for everyone to wake to that truth before it is too late.

Did you see the article about Gina Rinehart, mining magnate who pays off Christopher Monckton to do BS climate denial shows? She is set to become the richest woman in the world because of this. What a national outrage. But then we here in America have our own outrages that we have never rectified as well regarding indigenous people. Greed for sure is anti-humanity.
