What a horrible experience this child is living through, I hope she gets better soon.

Whitney Houston's daughter rushed to hospital.

(CBS News) Bobbi Kristina Brown, only child of the late singer Whitney Houston, has been rushed to an LA-area hospital, KCBS has confirmed.
Bobbi Kristina, 18, had been staying at the Beverly Hilton, the same hotel where her mother had registered to stay at for a pre-Grammy party Saturday night.

Autopsy on Whitney Houston to begin Sunday

Beverly Hills police confirmed to KCBS that Bobbi Kristina was transported at 10:30 a.m. PT to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

A Beverly Hills Police Dept. watch commander told CBS that Bobbi Kristina was treated for anxiety at the scene.

CBS2's Joy Benedict was on scene when Brown was taken.

According to Benedict, the teen was with three young men who were clearly distraught. They rushed to their car to follow the ambulance, Benedict said.

Benedict was told by police that Brown is expected to be OK.

Houston was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon in her room on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton. She had been planning to attend a party that night at the Hilton.

"There were no obvious signs of any criminal intent," said Beverly Hills police Lt. Mark Rosen.

An autopsy was set to begin Sunday.

    • This day started with a special mortal becoming the newest member of a celestial choir; it’s winding down with the Grammy’s—our homage to this unique THING called American music and the songs sung by angles and demons alike. The lyrics, notes and beats of a particular song or artist may affect every individual differently, but, none the less, we are affected. To most, Music, that perpetual soundtrack of life, has no political party; there is no blue sorrow or red sorrow, or red love or blue love. Whatever massive feelings a song unleashes within us, whatever scab lyrics irritates within us, music will always be the pulse of our past, and it will always be the pulse of our future. Without it we are as alive as a blank piece of paper.

    • After vacillating between absolute disbelief and a sense of acute sadness, after viewing and reviewing Whitney’s rendition of the star spangled banner and various other performances, after reluctantly and begrudgingly accepting the harshness of the realities of life, I realized that sometimes I appreciate the sounds of the song birds in the early hours of the morning, and sometimes I appreciate it even more after the song birds begin to soar, soar with other angels, in perfect formation and heaven bound.

    • I am sorry to hear that as the loss of anyone you loved can be overwhelming. I hope that her daughter takes the joy that her mother's beautiful voice gave to many and takes up the fight against the addictions of drugs and alcohol.

    • Poor kid has had a tough time. Dad ain't exactly a picnic either.
I wonder if it all makes cultural sense. The star factor. The celebrity worship. All that money, the vast majority of it to The Music Biz. The pressure to keep going no matter what because so many people are making big bucks off you. Not an inherently evil business but it sure could use a mic check.

    • This, is what's truly sad.

Total responses so far to the Australian American bode against China-14
Total responses so far to the death of Whitney Houston- 90

As a snapshot of the American psyche, I think these numbers say a great deal.

First of all I wanted to say, that I was not a Whitney Houston fan, as I did not think she was a terribly good singer, there is more to good singing than simply bludgeoning your audience with one's vocal range, power (projection) and endless archipelagos.

To use just ONE example of the many gone before her, by comparison, Billie Holiday did not have the vocal projection power or anywhere near the vocal range of Whitney Houston, yet was able to use what she did have to incredible emotional effect, THAT is real talent, which many Americans apparently are no longer able to comprehend, it's analogous to going to Olive Garden, and proclaiming proudly to all your friends family and neighbors, that you have had a fine authentic Italian dinner (FOR ONLY $12.99 EACH!). It's as though Americans desire nothing more than mediocrity, and insist on wearing it as a badge of honor.

But the relative merits and abilities of Whitney Houston is not my point here.

The point that I'm trying to make, is that in the relative scheme of things, I would think-and hope-that the general population would be more involved, thoughtful, or concerned, with what's taking place with the Geo-political/military situation their country is involved in with Australia, (And it's serious ramifications) rather than the death of a pop music singer.

Oh well, huge sigh-yet again- oh well, pass the endless soup, salad and cheesy bread (FOR JUST $12.99 EACH!)-gawd.

      Don't forget the 2-liter Pepsi!!!
Your main point is very, very spot on but I gotta tell you, V, when she hits that last chorus of "I Will Always Love You" it does something to people that can't be explained. And it's good. Folks just want to payback somehow.
      Back to biz-as-usual tomorrow!

    • The last time I saw Whitney was on the Oprah show, and she was truly in denial and strung out. I told my fiancee, she needs help real fast. That was a few years back, and it leaves you too wonder how much of Whitney's lifestyle will leave a lasting mark on her daughter's life.
