Dogs Against Romney Hound Former Mass. GovernorWhen it comes to proving your love of dogs, Mitt Romney is an unlikely candidate for best in show.
The former Massachusetts Governor has been criticized for putting his dog Seamus in a box on the top of his car for a drive from Boston to Canada in 1983. And today he's being hounded again for the decision, as the group Dogs Against Romney protests outside the Westminster Dog Show at New York's Madison Square Garden.
The group hopes to "ensure pet lovers are aware that Mitt Romney is mean to dogs."
They've already had help from Newt Gingrich in a Web ad, and Obama campaign guru David Axelrod recently tweeted a photo of the president with dog Bo inside a car with the caption "How loving owners transport their dogs."
This week Romney's got bigger things to howl about though; the latest national polling has Rick Santorum ahead by a nose.

Romney's dog on top of his car, going down the highway, with the shit scared out of him, is what comes to mind when ever I think of Romney. If he can't be trusted with a poor animal, how can he be trusted with poor American's. He appears to lack compassion.

I'm not a Romney fan. In fact, I think the entire political thing is corrupt. But bringing up shit from 29 years ago, is just typical political wrangling, and some people fall for it, hook line and sinker.

I'm glad the group Dogs Against Romney protested outside the Westminster Dog Show at New York's Madison Square Garden. This needs to get out there. It says alot about his character or lack there of. If he can do that to a dog, just think what else he is capable of.

The sad part is he still thinks it funny. Just because a dog will stick it's head out of the window of a moving vehicle doesn't mean it's good for them. To stick them on top on your vehicle, even in an enclosed crate is just cruel. I asked my two lovely boys pictured in my avatar and they agree.

I hear you...I believe this was torture for Romney's dog, riding on the roof of a moving vehicle, in a enclose cage, what the hell was he thinking. All the noise from all the other vehicle must have been very frightening for his dog. I hope he didn't do this in the children's presence. This is so sad someone should put his a** on top of a moving vehicle in a cage so he could see how it feels, and then zigzag the vehicle, I bet he could understand that.

Thank you. They help fill my empty nest. Both are very, very smart. The big one is half rottie/half black lab. The little guy (the boss) is half jack russell terrier/half bichon. Both were pound dogs. Like most dogs, they also know when someone is good or not.

Actually his children were with him. They were on a family holiday and he didn't pay any attention to the dog until the dog dodoo started running down the back window of their station wagon. His son is the one that mentioned the incident first, otherwise people would probably not know. They all thought it was funny. He's certainly taught is children well. If he was so worried about the dog making a mess in the vehicle he could have sent him to a boarding kennel while they were away. It's not like he couldn't afford to put it.

He did do it in his children's presence -- they're the ones who told him Seamus' poop was running down the back window. And what was Mittsy's response? He pulled into the next gas station, washed off the dog and the car, and then put the dog BACK UP IN THE CRATE and drove on to Canada!

This said a lot about Mitt Romney. You can tell a lot about people when you see how they treat their pets. Glad this idiot doesn't have any more children in his house. Think about this for a minute. He like to fire people, he doesn't care if he terrorizes his dog, and thinks companies are people. I don't want to know what he would do to the people if elected president. Probably place us on the roof while he drives the country off a cliff. Romney likes the Ryan Plan also.
