Republicans Pass Bill Forcing Vaginal Probes
-
-
- jimstoner
- added this
The Democrats in Virginia tried to add an amendment that would allow for less invasive forms of ultrasound but the Republicans would have none of it. They want the penetration.
"The republicans in Virginia, seriously, want a government so big that it can literally get inside individual citizens genitals, by force, and without their consent".- Rachel Maddow
Governor Bob McDonell (a contender for the V.P. position) says he will sign the bill when it reaches his desk.
It takes Rachel a couple of minutes to get to the trans-vaginal ultrasound story. First she has to tell us about Republicans trying to ban swearing. I swear.

Hello everyone, I am a canadian who follows american politics as much as I watch mine. As a country with a solid healthcare system, the american government should be looking into how we run ours! First and for most in order for this to work you must cut out any unnecessary procedures as it will only increase your taxes. If someone is going in for a abortion they have ultimately came up with a decision with what they want done to their bodies, there is a reason they want it done and there is absolutely no reason they have to do that as there are other non invasive procedures they can use! Remember cousins, universal healthcare is yours! It's your hard earned money that the government has and it should be the people of your country making the decisions! Don't let your government tell you what to do as they should be listening to you! We are north americans! We are strong, we are proud! And we do not put up bullshit! And please don't fall for this fairy take obama story, because just because he is the first black president doesn't make him the right president! Take care my friends! Don't be shy come across the border sometime and have a beer! And bring toby and his red solo cups!! :) peace love and happyness my friends!

@Jimstoner ("stoner" now it makes sense!): OK. You just lost ALL credibility with me, MORON! There are Republicans, LIBERTARIANS, and Liberty Republicans (which is what you are trying to group all Republicans in). Again, everything black and white with you! Libertarians have similar believes as republicans when it comes to economic libertarianism but do NOT share the same philosophy across the board. Do I say you are a Socialist or even a Communist because you are Democrat, or because you feel it is just to take from one to give to another? NO I don’t, because I educate myself before (once again) vomiting out what I ‘want’ to be the truth! Because I am a conservative by NO means suggest I (as a Libertarian) share the common belief most republicans, or those running on a Republican ticket, do when it comes to corporations and big business! Even more, you REALLY should educate yourself on the Difference of the two ‘terms’ when it comes to believes on our civil liberties, personal privacy, and individual liberties. I feel like I am talking to a wall! For God’s sake, educate yourself before you simple open your mouth!!! Altogether, being you are CLEARLY NOT a Libertarian, why are you even defining it or its fundamentals here? Hummmmmm!

And all Liberals do not share the same philosophy across the board either. You won't find many of them identifying themselves as Libertarians would you? I'm saying that Libertarians are Republicans because your number one guy is running as a Republican. It could not get much clearer than that. And no you did not say Democrats were Socialists or Communists did you? But if the Democrats number one guy was running on the Socialist or Communist ticket you would have a pretty good reason to do so, don't you think? And your insulting tone defines you as a Republican through and through. Tell me your not going to vote for whatever candidate the Republicans come up with whether it's Ron Paul or not. Hummmmmm! And what about the outright B.S. your video proved to be?

Second, God himself could not get me to vote for the two jackass running under the Rep. Ticket, nor for the even bigger jackass running under the Dem. Ticket! Why is the hell would I vote for someone who I disagree with? Again, I am a Libertarian, idiot! And I know all liberals do not share same philosophies, THUS my remark about NOT grouping them together (bang head against wall)! LMAO! Jim, step away from the herb! It's my name, not a lifestyle you insulting person. But that's just typical with you Conservatives isn't it? Talk about a reply based on someones name. Ron Paul is running as a Republican because Libertarians are Republicans. You may not be granted. But that Libertarian sure as hell is.
Go to this link and click on "Click for HR-3590" and find out for yourself what the bill actually says. There are no audits. There is no rationing. No government committee will decide what treatment and benefits a person will receive. And those things were all lies and rumors about HR-3200, a bill that was abandoned. - 1 year ago

Love the replies based on my name and remark! LOL. Let me first paint a picture for the ignorant and judgmental: I am 38 year old Architect, 8 year prior service vet, and STRONG believer in Government having NO rights in medicine, healthcare, or the private section - but we see what Obama did with that joke of Healthcare Bill that is simply opening doors like this. For those of you that voted for him, congratulations. Also, I am NOT a republican nor do I watch Fox - do not reduce yourself to such black-and-white political remarks - sad! BTW, I AM Pro-choice and not very Religious at all. I just with people would call it like it is. If you do not ELECT to have the abortion, then the government is not making you do anything! And Jimstoner, you actually point the figure at “Republicans” when it was a Democrat that passed the bill that is opening doors like this. Moron, educate yourself before you go vomiting stupidity!

It was the Democrats who tried to get an amendment introduced that would allow for less invasive ultra-sound techniques. Universal health care does not open the door for this kind of thing. Every country but the U.S. has universal health care, and none of them call for such things. How does trying to ensure health care for everyone open the door to an invasive procedure that does not have anything to do with the woman's health? The fact is, if this was a health care concern the Republicans wouldn't want anything to do with it. Republicans could not care less about the health and welfare of Americans. This is rape. By Virginia's own definition. Republicans are doing this because they don't think women understand what an abortion is, and the trans-vaginal ultrasound will cause them to change their minds. Don't call me a moron, your to stupid to know your a Republican. You did say for those of you who voted for Obama didn't you? - 1 year ago

How does making healthcare available to more people open doors to bizarre legislation like this?
Sure government doesn't belong in medicine, the bedroom or your vagina.
Health Care reform wasn't about medicine...its about the availability of medicine. Oh...and if the government wasn't allowed in the private sector...then that becaomes a means of deregulated markets, usury, no help for small biz...seriously though....wtf are YOU talking about?

And yes, you are clearly a moron! :-) You cannot stand the fact I say these things and am NOT a Republican, which is obviously your adversary, so you, LIKE SO MANY OTHERS, must fabricate ‘your’ concept of what is true, even though a stated once for you already, I am not a Republican. There is absolutely no medical reason for this "FORCED VAGINAL PROBE" whatsoever. None. Republicans are actually stupid enough to think that once women are forced to do this they will somehow have a change of heart. What do Republicans think the women are going to say. Isn't a Transvaginal ultrasound a type of pelvic ultrasound, used to look at a woman's reproductive organs, including the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and vagina. Also, isn't this a procedure elected by the physician anyway, which is used to d...etermine abnormal findings on a physical exam such as cysts, fibroid tumors, or other growths that can cause complications during an abortion, if not discovered beforehand. Even more, this is being driven because of the MANY lawsuits by individuals that elect to have an abortion after the fact, when these abnormalities are not found and cause complications due to an abortion. In all, it is designed to protect the very doctors people go to for an abortion. Altogether this is about protection doctors from frivolous malpractice lawsuits, and not about ‘invading’ women’s rights.

it is really true...there is a very large tea party contingency operating in Virginia, they got McDonell elected, and they are hell bent on reshaping the world into a vision of their notions of "God's will." We can talk all day about how ridiculous it is to try to direct a nation's policies based upon religious persuasions, but these people are busy organizing, introducing and supporting legislation that has the potential to change the landscape of this nation as drastically as Islamic fundamentalism altered Iran.

I am from Virginia, and this is one of many pieces of legislation like this that are very carefully and stealthily being ushered through our legislature. It is shocking and appalling. We had a decent governor in Tim Kaine, and even though he is Catholic, he would never have supported this type of right-wing idiocy, but the Democratic party recruited Kaine as chairman for the Democratic National Committee, and right-wing, tea party affiliates have slowly infiltrated everywhere, with this type of legislation being the result.
Tim Kaine is making a bid for the U.S. Senate, to replace that pompous ass George Allen. George Allen is a huge supporter of "personhood legislation," which states that life begins at conception and proposes to give constitutional rights to a fertilized egg.
I think Kaine has the support to beat Allen, but the tea party faction in Virginia is well organized and moronic to the core. McDonell has to be one of the worst governors ever....of 'dubyah' proportions.
These anti-abortion proponents are militant in their zeal and convinced they are doing "God's will." Women's reproductive rights are a bigger issue for them than economy, war....anything at all.

By this logic men should be forced to have a prostate exam before getting a viagra prescription. This is terribly wrong and invasive. Hell it almost amounts to literal government rape women! I guess it sends a clear message to get out of the south or at least leave the state for an abortion.

This is beyond horrible. These men have no idea what they are doing, or what this country even is. Maybe doctors who disagree with the ruling will start lying about doing these exams.
