The United States has accumulated a lot of debt to fight two wars (one for oil fields for corporations), bail out Wall Street, give tax breaks to the rich and provide low or no taxes for corporations. Who's paying for it all? Why you are of course. When the media and politicians tell you that the debt is held by the Chinese, they are bald-faced lying. Here is a breakdown of who holds America's debt:
Hong Kong - 0.9%
Caribbean Banking Centers - 1%
Taiwan - 1.1%
Brazil - 1.5%
Oil Exporting Countries - 1.6%
Mutual Funds - 2%
Commercial Banks - 2.1%
State, Local and Federal Retirement Funds - 2.2%
Money Market Mutual Funds - 2.4%
United Kingdom - 2.4%
Private Pension Funds - 3.5%
State and Local Governments - 3.5%
Japan - 6.4%
U.S. Households - 6.6%
China - 8%
The Federal Reserve - 11.3%
Social Security Trust Fund - 19% (the other percentages are small debt holders).

The American Government owes 4.5 trillion dollars to foreigners and foreign governments.

The American government owes Americans 14.34 trillion dollars.

Americans themselves hold almost three quarters of Americas debt.

Americans are not in debt. Most of the debt is owed to Americans.

One of the most telling things is the fact that the American government owes the Social Security Trust Fund 19% of the entire debt. Not that the fund didn't take in enough money or was mismanaged, but that the American government took the money and used it to fight it's wars, give tax breaks to the rich and corporations and bail out Wall Street. That would explain why politicians, especially the Republicans, are trying to get rid of Social Security. Like mafia types they are trying to kill the thing they owe so much money to.

Think of it. While these organized criminals called American politicians are taking your money to give to the rich, to give to the corporations, to bail out Wall Street and to fight wars for the Military Industrial Complex and oil companies, they have the balls to tell you to tighten your belt.

Start swearing out citizens arrest forms. I wonder if you can?
