Rep. Michele Bachmann accused President Barack Obama of “waving a tar baby in the air” by blaming oil speculators for the “poor choices” he’s made for energy policy.“This is just about waving a tar baby in the air and saying that something else is a problem. I have never seen a more irresponsible president who is infantile in the way that he continually blames everybody else for his failure to first diagnose the problem, and second, to address the problem. It’s always everyone else’s fault,” the Minnesota Republican told Florida-based conservative blog The Shark Tank in an interview on Wednesday.
In the Uncle Remus stories, the Tar Baby is a doll made of tar and turpentine used to trap Br’er Rabbit. The phrase has come to mean a sticky situation, but some also consider it a derogatory term for African Americans.
Bachmann’s press secretary has not yet returned a request for comment.
This isn’t the first time a politician has used the phrase: In 2006, Mitt Romney used the term in reference to Boston’s Big Dig construction project. He later apologized. Arizona Sen. John McCain in 2007 was discussing the federal government’s involvement in custody cases and said, “For me to stand here and … say I’m going to declare divorces invalid because of someone who feels they weren’t treated fairly in court, we are getting into a tar baby of enormous proportions and I don’t know how you get out of that.” He said he was wrong to use the phrase.
And Republican Rep. Doug Lamborn (Colo.) apologized in 2011 after he said of Obama, “I don’t even want to have to be associated with him. It’s like touching a tar baby and you get it, you’re stuck, and you’re a part of the problem now and you can’t get away.”

Bachmann is mindless enough that it might be possible she used this term without realizing at the time that her ignorance is that ignorant. In other words, is she intelligent enough to have thought this through? Either way she is evil.

I guess she didn't read or hear anything about this last year. It's time they move on from the ignorance and divisiveness that there so good at. Is there a Sarah Palin school for rejected VP & Presidential candidates still looking to be relevant?
Republican Rep. Doug Lamborn of Colorado and commentator Pat Buchanan, a former candidate for president, both apologized Wednesday for using racially charged terms to refer to Obama.
"Last week, Rep. Doug Lamborn (R) of Colorado, on a Denver talk radio show, said, “Even if some people say, ‘Well, the Republicans should have done this or they should have done that,’ they will hold the president responsible. Now, I don’t even want to have to be associated with him. It’s like touching a tar baby and you get it, you’re stuck, and you’re a part of the problem now and you can’t get away.”
The term tar baby comes from the 19th-century Uncle Remus stories, where B'rer Fox uses a doll made of a lump of tar to trap B'rer Rabbit, who gets more stuck the more he pummels and kicks the tar baby. In more recent parlance, tar baby is widely considered racial slur."

So much disrespect for the President of the United States. He did not get their alone, the people voted him in, he was the people's choice. Bachmann is not only disrespecting the President, she's disrespecting the voters. This woman, with such a filthy mouth, wanted us to hire her for president. Do you understand why she didn't get nominated, we saw her coming. History has definitely changed the character traits that separate good from the bad. In our quest for good we look for dignity, honesty, righteousness and truth. None of this Bachmann understands, she's a habitual liar and she has definitely changed history and will be remembered for everything that comes out of her mouth. I cannot comprehend how she was voted in for her position in congress, unbelievable. This is not the first time they used words like this, this is the way they talk at home everyday behind closed doors when they are among their friends, these are their everyday conversations. America is at a crossroad, we the people definitely have to make a choice.
