President Barack Obama, who previously said his views on the issue were "evolving," said Wednesday he supports same-sex marriage."At a certain point, I've just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to affirm same-sex couples should be able to get married," Obama said in an interview with ABC News.

Wonderful! He has "evolved". Is that like being "flexible"? He was against it before he was for it. Just the opposite of Katsup Kerry. Test those political winds Barry before you make a statement. I really hope we only have a few more months of this fool.

Did you all miss the part about how he believes it should be “up to the states to decide”? He has EVOLVED to the same position that Dr. Paul has held for 40+ years. Now if we can get him to adopt Dr. Paul's positions on Drugs & War we will be in business!

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-incurred immaturity. Immaturity is the inability to use one's own understanding without the guidance of another. This immaturity is self-incurred if its cause is not lack of understanding, but lack of resolution and courage to use it without the guidance of another. The motto of enlightenment is therefore: Sapere aude! Have courage to use your own understanding!"

Well it seems this started with David Gregory asking the question of Joe Biden for why it is hard to tell and joe being who he is tells it like it is instead of side stepping the question(for you repubs thats called honesty)Then Mark Halperin on morning Joe couldn,t wait to hit arney Duncan with it on monday morning. Then every main stream news media went on the attack hammering Obama for not saying where he stood then Obama told them were he stood on wed.morning and all day wed and today the media is pushing what they think the Romney campaign and republicans are going to do to use this against obama. But they would just as soon let this pass.Oh no the main stream says we are not going to let this pass we are going to dig up every preacher and every organization and every contributor we can find who will come on and keep this story going. So it will likely make it through the rest of this week and the sunday talk and unless some other big deal comes up it will die a slow death. So with all the duplicate coverage on all the main stream news of each and every story how many of you still think all politics are local i gave that idea up a quite awhile ago.

My wife and I are renting a home from a gay couple. They could have leased their home to anybody they wanted to but they cose us over applicants that had better credits scores and more money at the time that we moved in last September. We told the truth and they took a calculated business risk that we were good hearted people. A couple of months ago they offered to sell their lovely home to us. These 2 men literally have bailed us out of a living hell. Roberto and Tim are 2 us the best human beings that I know. They both step up and did what a lot of heterosexuals refused to do. They refused to allow our credit scores from an unlawful foreclosure diminish the fact that my wife and I were still good people.
Today I salute President Barack Obama for demonstrating the same kind of courage in easing the undeserved pain and hell that gay couples have had to endure for hundreds of years in this great nation by announcing his support for same sex marriage

Homophobia , like any other form of social phobia tells us more about the person who has the phobia then about the subject .( i don't know if this is "proper" English or not , but i hope you understand the meaning)
So i applaud you for taking a chance .As i applaud Roberto and Tim for helping you out.
People are so caught up in money now , it scares the daylights out of me !
If people would help each other a little bit more, the world would be a better place to be .
And it starts small . Help the beggar on the street to eat tonight . If someone has some room or a shed or something , and its really cold . Offer a homeless person a place to stay . They will be so grateful ! Even if they are not , you helped another human being and that will make him/her better . Of course you need to be careful ! Don't be stupid about this and let them take you for a ride ! But in 99.9 % of the cases they will be grateful and wont be a problem .
It is a absolute shame what is happening in the state's with al the foreclosure's and evictions of people . And let's face it ; It's always the lower end who get the short end of the stick !
I for one , am very glad that i don't live in the state's . The humanity has left America in a hurry ! Compassion and basic needs is what people need now .And the U.S government should help the people, not the banks !
I do hope you will be able to live out your day's in peace and in a house of your choosing .

Well and truly said! It's the laissez-faire cult that has totally destroyed americas soul with the "commodification" of everything, everything being about "profit", everything being about the holy numbers in the ledger books. It's just so truly obscene. The twisting of society into a sublimated form of "law of the jungle" ideas of kill or be killed, take any advantage at any time all for money. Children, the elderly, the un-well, tough! they're not wealthy enough or powerful enough to protect themselves, we'll take them for whatever little they have left. Crony-capitalism at it's highest! A truly deeply sad sick society!

The topic of Gay Marriage is one of civil rights, therefore it is a real issue.that even LBJ, may have been forced to "allow". The gay bashing "closet homos" of the xenophobic republican fascist fags will delight in bullying the "pansies", but I don't believe;this issue will cost Obama the election.
The concept of Gay Marriage is at best an unpleasant and annoying subject for most Americans, who are not GLBT, The nascent opposition by the middle of the road folks goes more to the militant advocacy by gay activists and the " Please no Richard Simmons next door " factor with a general resentment of special rights entitlements and protected group status being forced down our throats, and our children forced to "accept" practices many find immoral and repugnant which may influence their judgement .
Many Americans still find it difficult to distinquish the difference between child sexual abuse, pedophlia, transvestitism, and homosexuality or bi-sexuality of GLBT. They don't care about the poor gays rights to both wear dresses or kiss in public. We tend to over generalize and stereotype, and label, We care about our children, and when we already don't like what they are taught in schools and have doubts about sensitive sexual relationship issues that will inevitably impact their development, we tend to either resist or avoid conflicts.
Good luck Gays, you are citizens with rights and deserve freedom from discrimination. Some find public displays of affection disgusting even when a man and woman are kissing. The main problem with the GAY issue is that it is a distraction from much more important issues. So lets be done with it. Have a parade.
I don't think any form of public behavior that is offensive, such as police brutality, pepper spraying protesters and beating up journalists or using MILITARY DRONES to spy on and assassinate American Citizens should be allowed.
I also believe that the people have rights to be protected from the corporations pollution and cancer causing practices, the corruption of the Congress by greed, bribery graft and TREASON, and the right to be safe from the fear of The Global Fascist Corporate Aristocracy from implementing their protocols.

You've overlooked the real danger on the court, which are its conservatives who never met a corporation they couldn't love. With the Citizens United decision these conservative activist judges have ripped the foundations out from our democracy in a manner that would have made Hitler and Mussolini blush with pride. it isnt my opinion that only asexual jurists have or can have opinions.by their job description they have opinions on anything and everything that comes across their desks.
if when the issue of heterosexual marraige finds its way to the supreme court to see if it is constitutional, being that it is those who seek the right they are garunteed will have a vested interest.
and equaly when the issue of gay marraige finds its way to the supreme court to be evaluated in regards to the constitution, those who are judging the matter who are being denied their basic rights garunteed under the constitution will then have a vested interest.
if ever an issue pertaining to what rights italians are allowed, i would imagine scallia would have a vested interest.and so on and so forth.
you are really looking to argue where their is no argument here man.
kagan and sotameyer are at the very least two left leaning progressives who will vote for gay marraige regardless of who they are fucking.this isnt news to anyone and was understood at the time of their appointments, making the notion that obama supports gay marraige already established when he appointed them. - 1 year ago

"I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married." -Barack Obama, May 9, 2012 - 1 year ago

Feels good waking up with some hope. After he signed the NDAA, I was so pissed off that I was thinking about moving to Canada. I sure hope we can put his feet to the fire when it comes to privacy and other civil liberties.
