On the one hand, there are dozens of "military strikes" on this planet every day. On the other, the stakes are admittedly stratospheric with respect to this possibility. I simply don't believe the pundits that claim global thermonuclear war will result. All of the players have been anticipating this possibility for several years now.
Iran's supporters know that the government has been pushing the envelope of acceptable behavior with increasing audacity the entire time. Their allies will scream about double standards and call for punishment of Israel, but I doubt any fingers are hovering over the nuclear buttons. The only global threat is Russia, and for all Putin's tyrannical leanings, I think he is too much of a pragmatist to risk overwhelming response not only from the U.S. but also the remaining nuclear powers in NATO plus Israel's own nuclear capacity, which alone (according to the intelligence available to the public) is greater even than China's

i dont think nuclear war is an issue either.
no one with a stake wants that as mutualy assured destruction is not just a theory but basic common sense.
the issue isnt iran dropping nukes in tel aviv.the issue is iran happily sharing nuclear material (likely small amounts) with those who would.your hamas and so forth who ar more than content destroying themselves in order to fight those who are the percieved enemies.
or the 2nd scenerio which is that the iranian people who will inevitabley over throw this regime would then have nukes at their disposal.not that the population of iran are a people obsessed with using them, but the climate of rationality greatly deminishes in revolution.remember our guys being held hostage the last time?and why again?
qadaffi brought before a tribunal to account for his crimes or raped up the ass and killed?
