Obama White House To Deny Clemency For Convicted Israeli Spy Jonathan Pollard

And why is it so important for Israel to attemt to get clemency for this rat traitor every three months?

Hours ahead of a meeting with US President Barack Obama where President Shimon Peres is expected to make a plea for clemency for jailed Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard, White House Spokesman Jay Carney on Wednesday threw cold water on the prospects of the request being granted.

"Our position has not changed and will not change today," Carney told journalists at a daily briefing. "I would simply remind you that Mr. Pollard was convicted of very serious crimes."

Peres is in Washington to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Obama at a special White House ceremony later Wednesday.

Also Wednesday, an online petition calling on Peres to do everything possible to bring about Pollard's release passed 75,000 signatures.

The petition drive began three months ago and has attracted support from across Israel and around the world.

    • israel does the buerocratic deal asking for pollard, we do our part and tell them no, while nothing changes ever, with each nation not invested enough to move in any way to change matters.
      the sick part are the obsessive freaks who try to make what is literally nothing into representing something

      kind of like trying to make don rickels telling racist jokes an issue.cuz that is new too huh?

    • Pollard says " I got beat up, (in school) but at least the Israelis would beat up on a couple Arab countries and maybe I would feel better".

      oh you have just scratched the surface.but he is only an antisemite on alternate tuesdays.other than that he is just simply talking "politics" in regards to "israel" irrespecitve if their is a call to or not, and always finding the "zionist" "israeli" "jewish" element to be 100% at fault at all times.

      unlike you i dont pretend guessing is the same thing as knowing.
      i said "pretty sure" not "certainly" or anything definative.
      but if you need to create what amounts to a small victory to sooth your damaged emotional state knock yourself out.run with it and pat yourself on the back.

      it doesnt change that pollard was an american citizen and an american citizen only when he was working for our government, which is what this is all about anyway.

      but if you so desperately need an opportunity to present yoursefl as correct to me being incorrect knock yourself out fellah.run a victory lap and savor it as you apparently need this badly
