The Jerry Sandusky case was a huge trial by media, and for me, gives me hope for my own case. It parallels the Hey Dad Scandal, in that a huge powerful figure was protected by so many for so long, but in the end, the truth came out.Hopefully now there will be a domino effect and victims everywhere will feel empowered to come forward against their attackers.
I watched this case closely, since I too have been accused of creating trial by media by accusing my on screen father of molesting me while we worked together on the show. Then several other girls came forward. The all the people who said they knew about it, but were afraid to talk. It's been investigated by the police for over 2 years, and the Australian public keep telling me he's going to get away with it because of the media exposure.
This case proves that when there's a truth, when people are willing to stand up and fight for what's right, justice will prevail, no matter the media circus.
