Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan originally put the loss from their "London Whale" fiasco at $2 billion ($3 tops!). While I put the over / under on the actual total loss at $12 billion. A series of reports have been moving Dimon's original estimate northward ever since the story broke. The NYTimes is now saying the loss could reach $9 billion.

Meanwhile Barclays' executives have been warned that they may face criminal charges in the UK just days after reaching a $453 million settlement with UK and US regulators relating to charges of interest rate manipulation.

More of my rantings on the subject along with links to stories in the financial press can be found on my TYT blob posting.
