Who in hell do Mitt Romney think he is? Not only did he insult the NAACP members by showing up, he had the nerve to insult the president. He would have been perceived differently if he had stood before the audience with a clean heart, and a honest message, not the same old tired/recycled speech. He uses the same talking points/lies/propaganda regardless of who his audience is.
He had the nerves to fly Black Republican supporters in to keep from looking stupid, but it didn't work. Everybody knows that the standing ovation was bought and paid for with the dirty money contributed by his billionaire supporters to buy the election.
Mitt was treated better by the NAACP members than he should have been, because he went their with the intent to arouse his base by insulting the ACA, while addressing the members of the oldest civil rights organization in the country. He should have been booed just for showing up with ill intent. - 10 months ago

If he didn't show up the NAACP would have called him a racist, and because he did show up, it gave these nincompoops a reason to complain and appear relevant.
I listened to this on NPR and some of these NAACP people just sounded like bunch of morons. If I were the head of the Romney campaign, I would have issued a press release telling the NAACP that they are irrelevant and I politely decline the invite to appear.

Yeah, I believe the NAACP are totally irrelevant. If that is "racist" then I stand guilty as charged.
And furthermore...
I'm not a supporter of Romney; he's just as big of a joke as Obama is, possibly even bigger. He made a fool of himself by appearing at the NAACP and I think we can all agree on that.
Also, Obama is half white, who, according to the NY Times article "Barack Obama: The Road to the White House," was groomed for politics by Chicago elites U.S. Judge Abner J. Mikva and the former chairman of the F.C.C., Newton Minow, neither of whom are African-American.
Obama has no african-American senior advisors except for Valarie Jarret, who is also half-black. The rest are all white and/or Jewish. Also, take a look at the photo of Obama's 2012 Chicago campaign staff. Looks rather vanilla, wouldn't you say? What's up with THAT?!?
As for the NAACP, this "African-American" organization didn't even have a black president until 1975 and was actually funded and run by Jewish individuals such as Henry Moskowitz and Joel Spingarn who served as chairman of the board from 1913 to 1919, its treasurer from 1919 to 1930, its second president from 1930 until his death in 1939.
Do you know your history?
And finally, in light of the NAACP's past acheivements, what have they done lately except for fundraising and grabbing headlines regarding hot-button racial issues?

I don't think he made a fool of himself by going to the NAACP. I think a presidential candidate _should_ at least attempt to reach out to those who may not like him. After all, the president is the president for everyone, not just some. Where he went wrong was instead of just reaching out, he reached out and slapped an entire group of people. He was not speaking to AA's so much as he was saying to his base, "You see, I told them no more free stuff".
THAT was why he went there.

I believe it was a win for Romney, and big. It has continued to make news.
It is a big win for him on two points:
1. He showed he is looking at people as Americans, not like the Left does in terms of race. In other words, what is good for America is good for everyone; race and any special groups are irrelevant as they should be.
2. He showed he has the guts to stand there and tell the truth. I think that mainstream who looked at him as a boring and lifeless candidate are now taking a second look. Bravo for Romney!

Mitt should have turned down the invitation if he wasn't sincere about being there. His primary goal was to use the event to make a point to his base, not to build bridges. No one would have thought of him any differently by not showing up. It is customary for the NAACP to invite all presidential candidates to their convention, almost all Republican candidates turn down the invitation. He should have stayed away if he was up to no good.
To refer to Mitt Romney and the entire group of moronic/racist delusional Teabagger presidential candidates, is an understatement. President Obama is light years ahead of Mitt and the clowns that challenged him in the primary.
You people have a tendency to insult the victims of your obvious racism. America would still be in the dark ages if it wasn't for the courageous members of the NAACP fighting for the rights that were being denied by racist, cowardly White people like Mitt Romney. - 10 months ago

A wise candidate addresses the issues of his/her audience. When Mitt Romney speaks to the 1%, he articulates the message that captures their attention. No more, or lower taxes. This is all they care about, and he knows it, except for less or no governmental regulation. Instead he was condescending and rude to his host, and didn't address the issues that they cared about.

Talk is cheap. Action speaks louder than words. Show me where he has openly stated that he was opposed to the recent increase in voter suppression laws implemented by Republican governors. When has he criticized racists like Rush Limbaugh, or Teabagger politicians who uses racist terminology in reference to President Obama?
What I am saying is that, he got deservingly booed for being condescending and being dishonest as always.
No, we ain't all in the same boat.Your voter rights have never been in jeopardy.
What's absurd, and ridiculous, is for him to go there with that dumb speech expecting not to get booed. Unlike his supporters, the NAACP members are not impressed by how much dirty money he has outsourced to foreign bank accounts. - 10 months ago

"Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?"
"Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it."
"The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies."
"They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?"
[To an African American female caller]: “Take that bone out of your nose and call me back."
"We need segregated buses… This is Obama’s America."
"Obama’s entire economic program is reparations."
"I mean, let's face it, we didn't have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I'm not saying we should bring it back; I'm just saying that it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark."
and...
"You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray. We miss you James. Godspeed." James Earl Ray was the confessed killer of Martin Luther King.
Those sound like pretty racist things to say for a person who is not a racist...
