DC Motorcycle Policeman Allegedly Makes Death Threat against Michelle Obama

If this has been posted here before my apologies, but a search did not turn up any diaries about the story in the Washington Post yesterday and today of the alleged death threats made against Michelle Obama.

One of the DC police who provide motorcycle escorts to White House officials allegedly made death threats regarding the First Lady, Michelle Obama, to other officers, even describing the weapon he would use to kill her, according to the Washington Post:

The police department’s Internal Affairs Division is investigating the alleged comments and notified the U.S. Secret Service Wednesday, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to give details of the investigation. [...]
During that conversation, the officials said, the officer allegedly said he would shoot the First Lady and then used his phone to retrieve a picture of the firearm he said he would use. It was not immediately clear what type of firearm was allegedly shown.

An officer overheard the alleged threat and reported it to a police lieutenant at the Division, who immediately notified superiors, the officials said.

This isn't some anonymous nut on the internet or mouth hate radio shock jock. This is a law enforcement officer charged with protecting the First Family and other White House officials. One can only wonder how many fellow law enforcement officers share his opinion. And don't tell me this is just some little "joke" we can brush off, and that liberals have no sense of humor. If any DC police officers had made similar threats against Laura Bush you can rest assured not a single Republican or conservative would have called it a laughing matter.

    • I hope this is dealt with swiftly and properly. It was absolutely wrong for a law enforcement officer to threaten ANYONE'S life.....especially the First Lady.

    • Whatever. I seriously doubt he would have taken steps to carry out this "threat". I think he was just blowing smoke and talking hypotheticals. I personally know many law enforcement who have said the same thing but would not do anything to act it out.

YOu remind me of that nut job kennymotown who, in a post I put up about Holders criminality in the death of Brian Terry, said that he was amazed that I remembered Terrys name but bet that I could not name the 3,000 killed in the World Trade Tower or something like that. Supposedly he considered the latter to be as relevant as the first but hey, that's kenny.

I don't know what relevance you seen in Nancy Reagan regarding this as Nancy is no longer the first lady. Either you are trying to garner some sort of gotcha points, the things that I get from libs that are supposed to be erudite musings and facts.

To answer your question, I don't know of ANY law enforcement members who have said, or would say, the same thing about Nancy Reagan. If I did I would not have considered it to be something that was clearly intentioned. I don't consider verbal anything like this to be a crime. Even though she may be finally proud of her country, as opposed to those of us who were proud of it all along, many people still don't like her due to her conduct as first lady. Stuff like that attracts attention. She will just have to live with it until next January when, hopefully, the voters send her back to be windy in the Windy City.

    • I might be playing devil's advocate, but I have to believe in that people start with the best of intentions; so I give them the benefit of a doubt.
Perhaps this officer was talking of his duties escorting FLOTUS, but was baited into talking about the subject by an under-cover internal affairs agent.

Or perhaps he was disgruntled from a comment Ms. Obama made asking if his motorcycle would buckle from trying to haul "all of that excess bacon".

Perhaps he's studying to become a criminal profiler, and talked about it in a hypothetical discussion.

Or perhaps the guy is just a dumb turd who should feel the fear of the reach of the POTUS....who now has a kill list with one more person on it.

Personally...I think it would be fun to drive the guy insane with paranoia by having a drone follow him around for several hours daily.
      -But that's just me.

    • This is truly sick. To want to kill anyone is wrong, but FLOTUS? What the hell did she do to anyone? This is just another example of the total lack of respect for President Obama and his family. Good post LLP. +^d
