Colo. Judge Issues Gag Order in Aurora Theater Shooting

Image

If the judge didn't want any information getting out, then I doubt that reporters would have been allowed to take photo or video footage of the shooter's first court appearance.

Just more evidence of a scam in my opinion because questions aren't being answered and the media isn't even trying to ask any relevant questions. They are just rolling forward with gun control and politicizing this event.

Lawyers involved in the Colorado movie theater shooting are limited in how much they can say outside of the courtroom.

Suspect James Holmes made his first court appearance Monday.

After the hearing, the judge issued a so-called gag order that bars attorneys from publicly commenting on matters including evidence, whether a plea deal is in the works or the results of any examination or test.

    • Aurora Victim Laid to Rest; School Denies Report Package Arrived Before Shooting

One of the 12 slain shooting victims in last week’s Aurora massacre was laid to rest on Thursday at a public funeral. An unidentified friend remembered Micayla Medek, a community college student who was 23 years old when she was shot dead.

Unidentified friend: "I’ve known Micayla since I was 11. We grew up together, made some of the most amazing memories that I will never forget and I will always cherish. Oftentimes during the summers, we spent weeks at each other’s houses, just back and forth, back and forth. I would just show up, and she was just there with open arms waiting for me."

The University of Colorado, meanwhile, has denied a report that a package sent by shooting suspect James Holmes detailing plans for the massacre sat unopened in a campus mailroom before the shooting occurred. The school says the package was received the Monday after the attack and promptly reported to police.

I can tell you one thing, I have made way more friends than enemies in my life, but if I did something that caused me to have international notoriety, there would be no shortage of people coming out of the woodwork to sell photos of me.

The fact that there are only two very poor quality photos of this guy that exist in these days of high-quality digital imagery on demand, and one is from an adult personals website just proves to me that this whole story is 100% total bs.

it's never really a wise move to use your own experience to attempt to validate a point you are trying to make about someone else....just sayin.

and actually, many factors seem to indicate that Holmes had isolated himself considerably from other people, which is not surprising, given what he did. The shooter at Virginia Tech had also self isolated from other people. There weren't a lot of photos of him coming out of the woodwork either.....

    • This whole case stinks and I too have my suspicions that this has all been part of the "show" that is "secret government". Just look at that nose. Unless he has had reconstructive surgery, people's noses don't change that much. Its definitely a look a like.

the nose is actually a two different angles in these photos....

I read the special commission report on Cho, who shot 32 at Virginia Tech, and there are some alarming similarities in the two profiles, although, clearly, not a lot has come out on Holmes yet. While I have my own suspicions about some of the technology our government is now in possession of, what is of more concern to me is the fact that the world we live in is continuing to produce these kind of angry and isolated young men.

Yeah, he' smiling in one and not the other. Tabloids use this ploy to claim celebs have gotten nose jobs. Smiling makes your nostrils flare, because the two features are attached with skin and everything.

    • I'm not sure when the picture on the left (with dark hair)
was taken, but the impact of a spiral into a reactive
psychosis (such as schizophrenia, or manic depressive
illness) can be accompanied by marked changes to the facial
features as attested in the picture on the right.

I'm not saying that this man is "psychotic", because I honestly
don't know--and that's yet to be determined by a panel of both
      prosecution and defense experts.

I'm just saying that I have seen profound changes in a person
who not only succumbs to mental illness, but also when the
same person may have a remission (return to sanity).

Personally, I'm glad that there's a gag order to maintain
the integrity of the Court processes and procedures.
It still will be difficult to find a jury of peers who are neutral
      about this crime.

How do you be neutral about this? Even if he is crazy or had help or was made under threat he either did it or not. No matter what, I do not think he can ever be trusted again unless he did not pull the trigger. I hope everyone sees this as a crime and sees how lucky many are that his gun jammed.

    • I agree. These photos do not look like the same person. But then, who knows what being continually sedated to keep you from talking can do to your appearance...

With my new time I have found that photo alteration is much more prevalent that I had thought. My thought was we are what we are, why. Now an original is very hard to find which leads down a deep bucket of problems as to knowing truth. I like instant video. Still don't know what I will be when I grow up!

To me they look like two completely different people. Add that Adult Friend Finder photo and in my opinion that's three completely different people.

One could argue nose job, but I don't know any grad students, saddled with debt and still in school who can afford a nose job and $20,000 worth of weapons and tactical militiary gear.

This thing stinks to high heaven and now no one cares about asking the right questions about this case they just want the guns.

This reminds me of Columbine, where when independent investigators started looking into the crime and noticed the glaring discrepancies the judge just shut it down. The case is still sealed today.
