Eat Mor Bigots

From the Mike Malloy show:

Sarah Palin has weighed in on the Jesus Chicken controversy, affixing the official Teabagger “crazy” seal on the feeding frenzy that has captivated the corporate media and kept us safely distracted from other, more important news, like Mitten’s failure to pay taxes for a decade.

Or a couple of bloody, foreign wars against another hated group – the Muslims. But I digress.

” . . . boycotting Chick-fil-A has a chilling effect on our First Amendment rights” Sarah screeched to Greta Von Sustrun on (what else) Fox “News” Tuesday night, adding that the fast food chain is “being harmed by those who are intolerant and are bigoted and are hypocritical.”

Caribou Barbie brands those who favor tolerance (isn’t that a TRUE Christian value?) and civil liberties as hypocritical violators of our Constitutional freedoms. Yeah, that’s about right. Fits in perfectly with the uber-right’s Orwellian doublethink tenents: Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength, and War is Peace.

Sarah and “First Dude”‘ Todd (soon to be a reality TV star in a show that turns warfare into entertainment – with REAL bullets!) partook of the breaded nugget-n-sweet tea communion in solidarity with the other right-wing-nuts who lined up in record numbers to stuff their gizzards with artery-clogging hydrogenated battered bits of hormone-laden corporate poultry in a demonstration of their holy union with CFA founder Dan Cathy’s recent statements in a radio interview opposing gay marriage:

“I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage’. I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about.”

The Supreme Deity, it seems, is preoccupied with the naughty bits of us lowly mortals, and how some of us choose to employ them. Given this, you would think He would do something about the culture of pedophilic Catholic Priests who continue to molest young children in the protected guise of trusted community spiritual leaders?

No?

Why in all that’s deep-fried does a fast food chain even have an opinion on sociopolitical issues like gay marriage is a question worth asking. What’s next? Will Wendy get her perky red braids in a twist over birth control? Ronald McDonald flip his flaming wig over legalizing medical marijuana?

One thing’s for certain – bigotry is good for Big Business, it appears. The Rapture Right donned their stretch pants and flooded their favorite flying-monkey fried fast fooderies to loft their nuggets heaven’ward in solidarity with homophobes and haters across the fruited plane to gobble greasy globs of processed factory farmed psuedo-poultry in pious protest of civil rights.

Pass the napkins. Greg Palast was right, we’re living in an armed madhouse.

I'm pretty sure Ronald McDonald is pro medical marijuana, and pro late night munchies.

    • This is a ploy by Corporate to produce a profit spike, using the induced ignorance of the American sheeple. Everyone fell right in line too, all sides doing their corporate master's bidding.

      WAKE UP!!!

We are allowed to have differences of opinion, remember? If you disagree with a value, it reinforces your belief in your's...it's not an opportunity to verbally abuse or use the very hate you believe you are decrying. It was called the American way not too long ago... :-(

    • I consider myself a christian, but I do not force my belief in religion in everyone's face. I do not claim to have every answer for that which may be wrong or right, especially n a religious judgement sense.

As I child, and through my teenage years, I did as my parents told me and went to church. I listened and I did understand to a fair degree that which was being taught. We went to small coun try-style churches of the Baptist faith, and for the most part, we were taught tolerance of others and to abide by that which is right and wrong.

After Christ was crucified, just before ascending to heaven, His disciples ask which of the commandments were the most important, and which ones they were to teach the most fervently. Jesus gave them a very simple answer, one which should have been extremely easy to understand and to follow.

"Love one another as I have loved you, and put no other Gods before My Father!":

Fairly simple and sweet. Not a great deal to ask. Why is it so hard to understand for so many who claim to be doing deeds in His name!

When did Jesus EVER actively act out and strike at those who would refuse to conform to His teachings, ..., other than the "moneychangers" that had set up shop in "His Father's House"? When did Jesus ever seek to impede others from choosing how to live their lives? When did Jesus EVER teach hatred towards others, for whatever reson?

When did Jesus EVER teach that an "ideal" was worthy of forsaking an entire People or nation over?

None of what these "self-righteous", teachers of hate and fear have to say are based in the teachings of Christ. They ask for us all to be deliverers of judgement, a deed which Christ said was explicitly reserved for His Father.

Judge not lest ye be judged.
      Turn the other cheek.
Love each other as I have loved you.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

These are the teachings of Jesus. I couldn't agree with you more.

      ""More customers for KFC."

      Really? Don't be too sure.

It is disputed how valid these signs are but "Although Wendy's support for Chick-fil-A was confirmed by Furman, the validity of these other two signs is being questioned online."

      Note this:

"Neither McDonald's nor KFC have come out to officially support Chick-fil-A."

What is not said, and it very important, is that neither McDonald's nor KFC have criticized Chick-fil-A in the slightest!

THAT is a seriously great graphic! Why is it so hard for 'christians' to simply BE God's emissary here, show His love, pray for the sinners, speak of your beliefs (ONLY WHEN ASKED) and trust the God they worship to do the heavy lifting? It is my Wiccan opinion that if more christians did these things many more people would come to their God; but when you have people like the chik-fil-a CEO and WBC spouting their UNchristian beliefs it's kind of amazing anyone comes to Him!

Pwr 2 the witchy wiccan peons! HONOR GAIA!

    • These bible thumpers never even cracked open their bible. Were they in Sunday school when they studied "love thy neighbor" and "do unto other as you would have done to you" or were they all at a local NAZI rally trying on their cute little armbands. Apparently all they need to be christians is a phony preacher telling the end days are here and "go nuts". I'm glad the constitution also give us freedom from religion since I want absolutely nothing to do with these morons. Who is their god anyway?

      Just a thought.

Even the poorest of us have more of an understanding that these nitwits ... The US public is not being represented , it is being manipulated . This is how someone WANTS us to see ourselves . Wants others to see US . The 1% , would have us be traitors to ourselves .

A couple of Current commenters offered to dress up as women and go to Chick-fil-A and kiss their girlfriends. I could lend them my YSLs. Hope they're a size 5.

    • It's a sad day in America when a manufactured controversy about fast food and gay marriage becomes the lead story for several weeks among so many other critical and very serious issues

It's even worse when we can't even debate this issue without actually addressing the facts and resorting to name-calling. IMO when a person has to go that route, they've already lost the debate and they are just flipping over the gameboard.

    • What happened to your rallying cry "Seperation of Church and State?"

Please state the law, statute or public policy that allows a city council official to block a business from operating due to it's president's religious beliefs and/or personal dogma.

And while you are at it please state how threatening to limit commerce--which may or may not be illegal based on the state statues and laws- equates to limiting the CEO's freedom of speech*edit--cause I'm not following Fox news, Mike Huckabee, and Sarah Palin's logic on that one*. And how turning out in huge numbers because some FOX news commentator erroneously told you the "Evil" Left and the "Gays" were out to get you and take away your rights to be bigoted --is a rational response to what was essentially some politicians pandering for votes (and ironically using their own freedom of speech) and just generally making crazy policy statements about limiting commerce they may or may not be able to actually pull off.

I never said that it equates to limiting the CEO's freedom of speech.

The corporation is being penalized from operating in several cities because a city official has declared that the religious beliefs and personal dogman of the corporation's president is politically incorrect and out of step with the rest of the city.

That's just batshit insane. That's the issue and you have to deal with that issue or there is no debate. Period.

I was responding sarcastically. Of course this whole thing is not about limiting freedom of speech. The CEO is free to believe whatever he wants and state those beliefs. It's about politicians pandering for votes trying to limit commerce--which may or may not be legal as I said based on the individual state laws. And its about FOX news spinning this into a free speech issue so they can go on being intolerant.

Sorry had my sarcasm meter off!

I don't necessarilly agree that politicians are pandering for votes, but they are pandering to special interests groups who are awash with cash who will make future campaign donations.

FOX is just playing the other side of the coin and being opportunists because they know that a good summer controversy is good for ratings.

Being the conspiracy theorist that I am I wouldn't be surprised if FOX andChick Fil-a worked out some kind of marketing campaign from behind the scenes. This has been a huge win for the company as you cannot buy this kind of advertising. Quite simply a brilliant campaign if this was indeed planned out.

Same one that let's them stop a porn shop or any other business from opening up You never opened a business up have you? They can stop you if they think you don't have enought green space or parking spaces. But Hay They may have got a permit to march in Skokie but not to operate a reading room. If you don't think the viewpoint of a city offical matters when you try and open a business, go on try and get a permit to build something or get a variancego on try. Besides what makes you think you have the right to come into someone elses town and build a fast food place especially if it has a drive thru? What? Do you think what the rest of the people in the town want in their town doesn't matter?

If Chick Fill A decides to buy the land next to your house then they can build a fast food place there? I don't think that's right the only thing I belive that doesn't have to pass a community values test are religious houses of worship. Just ask Wal*Mart.

What about the shell fish eaters, or selling your daughter into slavery??? Oh not those parts....just the part about the gays, right? Most "christians" don't even know their bible, the meaning of passages in it, or what JESUS told them to do...... as a group they are the biggest hypocrits in the world. Another group that I am glad do NOT exist on this side of the ocean. Kenny, I don't know how the country can EVER turn around when MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS of these psycho, bigots vote.....OMG they vote.....if that does not scare EVERYONE(except you know who, of course) on this page, I don't know what will. They say there are 50 to 60 million evangelicals in the USA right now so in essence, the USA is the new Afghanistan with its own woman hating clan like the Taliban.
