Judge Upholds PA Voter ID Law; GOP Admits Law Designed to "Allow" Romney to "Win the State"

Vierotchka
On Wednesday, a Pennsylvania judge upheld a controversial voter ID law that critics say could disqualify hundreds of thousands of voters. Republican lawmakers have openly admitted the law was designed to impact the result of the November election. In June, Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Mike Turzai listed off a number of legislative accomplishments. "Voter ID, which is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania: Done," Turzai said. Meanwhile, Florida, New Mexico and other states are being accused of purging voters ahead of the election. "Whenever states determine that they want to purge or clean up their rolls, it takes time, it has to be done efficiently and effectively. And waiting to do so, until very close up to the election, always raises concerns about why a state is doing it so close to an election," said Nicole Austin-Hillery of the Brennan Center for Justice. "We're always concerned about errors and the fact that innocent people, individuals who are indeed eligible, registered voters, we're always worried about whether those people will be erroneously kicked off the rolls."

    • Many of our courts are partisan! Just another example! Like a 68 year old man, who is accused of threats to POTUS, a democrat running for Senate, and democrats in general, was deemed a threat by a judge, faces 5 years of prison, then RELEASED until sentencing? The courts may be bought and paid for, too!

You know, a lot of people really don't. Especially people in big cities who don't drive and use public transit.

I agree even if you don't drive it's a good idea to get an ID card, but a lot of people don't do it, and I don't think it should be a requirement to vote.

I will admit that I have been.......talked to shall we say.......by the police on a regular basis back in the day in CHGO. Every time I got to chat with the fine men in blue they always wanted an ID. The couple times I didn't have one they took me in to ID me. How in the world do folks make it through life in big cities without ID. Many states, including WI allow those on some type of GOV aide to get ID's for free. There is no excuse to not have one in those states.

When seeing any president or VP for that matter, speak you need ID to get into the area to watch it.

Do you really believe that we shouldn't need an ID to vote for him but need it to watch a speech?

Do you believe that only democrats are the ones that don't, can't or won't get ID's?

If you do believe that the majority of the voters that will/would be affected by this law are democrats I would have to ask why are they so incapable of obtaining the required ID especially in the states where it's free?

If they really are that incapable of obtaining ID especially in the states that offer free ones, than they shouldn't be allowed to vote. It's really not near as hard to obtain ID as many here would make it seem. The office to obtain the ID's in not in the city of Atlantis

    • I call upon the President to direct the Justice Department to arrest Mike Tuzai as an admitted member of a national conspiracy to tamper with elections to state and federal offices of the United States of America. I further demand a RICO investigation to determine all of his co-conspirators and accessories before and after the fact. I further say that due to a national crisis that threatens our electoral process that the governors of the loyal states form militias of armed freemen to protect the Constitutional rights of freemen and freewomen to cast a secret ballot in state and federal elections. Any election contaminated by the conspiracy of which Mike Turzai is an admitted participant are to be declared invalid, by force of authorized state militias if necessary per the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.

    • This is disgraceful. But what is even worse is the fact that the republicans have been given the impression that the voters would not care if they made it harder to vote by the voters themselves.

Many people throughout the history of this country have paid in blood and lives to give us the right to vote. Many people outside America would and have given their lives to vote. Many Americans have become too apathetic about voting. Now that the right to vote is in real danger of being denied to many its importance is becoming evident.

Americans need to regain their right to vote and use it. We need to wake up and pay attention to what is being done against us in our name. It is time to start blaming the right people for the condition of our county and eclaim our power by educating ourselves with real facts then vote.

    • An elected Republican judge, Judge Robert Simpson, has refused to issue an injunction against an admitted plot to disenfranchise American citizens.

Another tyrannical and intolerable act. What would our forefathers have done with Judge Simpson;s decision. Well let me remind you what happened when British authorities dissolved the voting rights of Virginian and Massachusetts freemen.

      1768

      The Massachusetts Assembly is dissolved
      1769

The Virginia House of Burgesses is dissolved after protesting against England's plan to transport colonists accused of treason to England for trial.
      1770

Crispus Attucks (a free black) is killed when British troops fire into a crowd of demonstrators in Boston in an event that becomes known as the "Boston Massacre."

The Boston Assembly demands the rights of the colonies and threatens secession from Great Britain.

Samuel Adams forms the Committee of Correspondence in Massachusetts for action against Great Britain.

The Virginia House of Burgesses establishes a Committee of Correspondence to communicate with other colonial legislatures.

The Boston Tea Party takes place in Boston, Massachusetts. A party of nearly 50 men disguised as Indians, led by Samuel Adams, boards ships, breaks open 343 chests of tea, and empties them into Boston Harbor. THE REAL TEA PARTY

      1774

The Coercive Acts (widely known in America as the "Intolerable Acts ") are enacted against Massachusetts.

Thomas Jefferson writes "A Summary View of the Rights of British-America," which is published by Williamsburg, Virginia, printer Clementina Rind.

The First Continental Congress meets in Philadelphia,

      1775

Patrick Henry makes his "Give me liberty or give me death" speech in Richmond.
Paul Revere makes his famous ride to Lexington, Massachusetts.
The first battles of the American Revolution take place in Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts.

REAL AMERICAN PATRIOTS DON'T TAKE DISENFRANCHISEMENT OF FREE MEN AND WOMEN CITIZENS LYING DOWN---IN FACT WE FIND IT INTOLERABLE..
