    • These patent litigations are becoming more and more ridiculous.

The actual inventors of these tablet devises, smart communicators and their touchscreen operating systems were developed by Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry and the many contributors and designers from Paramount Studios.

For years devices have been heading in this direction and how else can you fit a screen in a tablet device, what other shape can a cell phone be?

Touch screens have a very limited option of how you can manipulate the interface. What is innovative about moving things with your fingers? We have been using our hands to push things from time dot. To call such actions as innovative is a joke.

Frivolous lawsuits of this nature only seek to put competitors at a disadvantage by confusing technologically uniformed members of the public serving at jury duty.

Apple's old campaign accused IBM of "Being Evil". It would seem that the need to dominate all competitors while continuing to not act on or resolve the issues regarding working conditions of employees at their manufacturing supplier Foxcon.

The other arguments over applets and widgets are unfounded as well. Linux, BSD and other open source distributions have had a plethora of free community developed interfaces, themes, widgets and applets available for many, many years now that many of the authors never get much credit or recognition for outside the free open source community.

Science fiction writers from many generations ago inspired designers in the movie industry to expose the rest of the world to these ideas long before smart phones (or terminals as they were originally named by the true technologically literate), tablets and portable media players, were even dreamed about by manufacturers and others.

Decades before in the world of DIY technology geeks and enthusiasts we were building our own information technology from home etched circuit boards and scavenged or mail ordered parts, then housing them in wooden, home worked shopped or local metal and perspex supplier sheeting made into self modified casing.
