    • Jesse Ventura is a loose cannon and a nut. I guess that is why I like him. Not only will I vote for him I will help him get elected.

Ya know he's gonna give Rove fits! That works for me. Thinking the poor GOP primary field and Romney/Ryan ticket joke is a Rove tool to make sure the GOTP gets slapped down, his PACs build up huge war chests, and the ground is readied for Jeb in '16.

Having Jesse Venture in that mix will make it a fight that might just end Rove's meddling.

I have a friend that is running for County Council in Volusia Co. FL. She is under funded and really has little chance of winning. However, the community has already benefited from her candidacy because she has changed the discussion in this race. They are talking about the things she wants voters to know about.

Even if Mr. Ventura does not win America will be better off because he will change the discussion and he will make it easier for the next true Independent to run and possibly win.

Spot on! And good for your friend! If more good people played Don Quixote, and 'tilted at windmills' we would get more people discussing the real issues instead of the pointless wedge issues. Sure, we won't win many, if any elections for some time, but the focus of voters WILL change eventually, and more people will start supporting good people's candidacies.

The mess we are in due to so many elected officials working for special interests over the general population did not happen quickly, It has been a long term battle and it will take a long time to really beat it back. But, we don't get anywhere unless we get in the fight, knowing there will be many losses before progress is made.

Voters have been dumbed down by media that became controlled by a handful of very rich people. Now, with the internet and other means of social communication, we have some tools to lessen the impact of corporate media. We are already seeing some changes there as M$M has to deal with what we get shared via social media/internet, or become totally irrelevant in news, and the marketplace. (the latter being the real threat)

Again, good for your friend! A few voices forcing attention to real issues will grow into a chorus to be reckoned with. Yeah, Mr. Ventura is that kind of voice, and he knows how to market, so he amplifies.

I do believe a big part of the problem is how slow the process is. Americans expect immediate results. It just does not work that fast. It takes years if not decades for some changes to be noticed. The things we are trying to do now will benefit our children more than they will help us.

    • Look folks.... we've turned the country into just another american idol contest. The one thing I would appreciate about this guy is that he would blow the lid off all the lies this government and others have been perpetrating on the public through the corporate media for decades.

    • As third generation involved with coaching athletics, I can tell you that Jessie is perfect example of what happens after years of steroid abuse:

Your Cockles swell and your brain shrinks....................................... or is it the other way around..............Hhmmmm.

Well, no matter, both are bad for brain tissue and the synaptic connections.

    • Getting ballot access is more difficult in some states than others. In most states the R's and D's have colluded to require that independents have to get double the amount of signatures to get ballot access than republicans or democrats need. That being said if he starts now he could probably get it done.

The debates however are probably a no-go. The grassroots and public have no influence on who is allowed in the debates. It's totally the decision of some corporate executive douche bag.
