The only way to convince these people that we can go on fine without them would be to declare war.

Colbert did a great job last night regarding Romney's comments on the 47% ...the supposed "moocher class"

It's also very possible that Karl Rove can finish the job that started over 30 years ago...scary.

Please do not insult libertarians by comparing them to Romney and Ryan. I do not think libertarians are selfish by in large. Historically I have always been a progressive. After watching the miss-allocation of resources for wars, the drug war, quid pro quo bribery and the like, now i am voting Gary Johnson. It is not because I do not support the idea of social programs because I very much do. Social security, by design cannot add to the deficit but congress keeps raiding the fund and that is why it will become insolvent in the near future. I am all for helping my neighbor but I am tired of helping limousine liberals and RINOs get rich while the majority are fucked over.

I have yet to meet a libertarian who is not selfish, who is not of the "me society" - and I have met a great many libertarians in real life.

Indeed. THAT is the very definition of a Libertarian. The only way a Libertarian society works is if its a society of 1. That way those 'pesky consequences' from their utterly selfish lifestyles don't come into play.

" How can we stop that selfishness from taking over the White House - and destroying this country? "
Be proactively engaged and VOTE!Your perceptions are no more or less valuable than anyone elses! Do not be disrespectfull first! ( indicators of being an inclusive and tolerant individual)

Brilliant words! It's probably why they've embraced the lunatic "prosperity gospel" of their "religous branch", which basically teaches if people are poor why that's because god hate's them! It's good to be rich, and if you're rich you're the very gleam in god's eye! If you're hurting the poor, don't feel bad, you're doing god's ordained will and punishing those sinners! It's a religous dogma that does justify being selfish and utterly uncaring about the well-being of others.

I totally disagree. I am a "baby boomer", and I have never met a fellow baby boomer who thinks like libertarians. We are the generation of hippies who in our vast majority tend towards liberalism and even socialism.
