There was some sort of disconnect in the control room, and some might say that this is an easy, slam-dunk indictment against Fox News’ ineptitude, but I would disagree.

    • Of course they are WRONG, did you expect anything else. They are the sorriest excuse for a news channel there has ever been and hopefully will ever be.

    • The news treats these carjacks like its entertainment. So not fair for the person who is doing the jacking to have to been broadcasted to the public and their horrible situation of a life that could possible have been turned around. instead they are chased by many vehicles and can only turn to the worse ideas.

    • Showing this graphic violence on TV is gravy for groups like the NRA. Let's do a little more to desensitize the public to the violent results of guns. Another on screen thrill for the video game generation who eats it up with a spoon. They like to see death whenever or however they can see it. An on-air gapers block. And no, they can't separate real life from fantasy. There is no deterrent to the truly easily influenced mind.

      What's next for Fox?

HINT: Did anybody see the movie "Running Man" with Arnold
      Schwarzenegger?

Rupert Murdoch is a trailblazer. He does know how to bribe "conservative" governments on both sides of the Atlantic.

Coming soon to Fox--Science fiction--becomes stark profitable reality.

THE YOUNG TURKS - SUPREME COURT:

"Embarrassed Fox News executives and shocked viewers from coast to coast were horrified Friday when the network aired an Arizona carjacker's suicide on live television. The stunning feed of the fleeing suspect putting a gun to his head and pulling the trigger aired at 3:31 p.m., with anchor Shepard Smith caught cringing before the coverage ended — seconds too late. "Get off, get off, get off," said a clearly distraught Smith, his voice rising as the man's deadly intent became clear. "Get off it! Get off it! Get off it!" The network blamed human error for the gruesome gaffe, with one source indicating a Fox producer was slow to cut away from live coverage of what started as a high-speed police chase. The unidentified man was pronounced dead in the Arizona outback shortly after Fox viewers watched the mortally wounded suspect fall face-first to the ground. Fox News veteran Smith, after the network abruptly cut to commercial, returned to the air with a lengthy apology for the fatal fiasco...".* Ana Kasparian, Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz, Jesus Godoy discuss on The Young Turks.

    • Show anything and everything. I don't care if it's a mistake, on purpose, trying to get ratings, sick, healthy... No censorship. Don't care who is doing it either. I don't think they did it on purpose, so they made a mistake in showing it. However, I don't think it's a matter of right or wrong. It just happened, and good. It's the most honest Fox has been in... well, forever.

It's not even that graphic. I've seen worse first hand, and there isn't anyone to 'censor' your vision. Let the truth and the horror and the good be shown... The relevancy of reality cannot be understated.

    • I have no desire to watch a violent act like this. It is completely irresponsible for any so called news organization to air a tragic event, with no consideration for the victim or his family.

I do. The victim had an obvious problem, maybe if he had received the proper medical treatment in time, the outcome would have been entirely different. On the other hand, the victim has family who will be affected by this horrible event. Try putting yourself in their position.

    • Guys, I hate Fox News just as much as anyone of you, but they clearly had no way of anticipating the guy would kill himself. Plus, Shepard Smith expressed sincere shame for broadcasting the images. I say let it go. It was an accident. Move on.

    • I've not watched the video and don't care to. I'm wondering if this has violated some kind of FCC violations, and if it is I'm not holding my breath for the Justice Department to go investigating the matter.

My guess is that FOX is just testing the waters to see what they can get away with broadcasting. That and for ratings of course. Ever seen that old 80's sci-fi flick Videodrome?

and would it possibly have equal actors!? James Woods, Deborah Harry? I doubt it... just some of these current people that just for the most part don't impress.

    • from those people no level of degeneracy for audience share would ever surprise! I expect cock-fights, dog-fights, and gladiatorial games if they can find a way to run them! If their patron-party comes to power expect nothing less!
