Excerpts:

"Support for solar is strong across all political parties. According to the findings, 98 percent of Democrats, 95 percent of Independents, and 84 percent of Republicans say the country should develop more solar. The poll also shows that 87 percent of swing voters have a “very favorable” or “somewhat favorable” view of the technology."

"Finally, as a recent poll from the Pew Research Center found, the only voters likely to view discussion of climate change and clean energy as a negative are very conservative Tea Party males — many of whom would never vote for a moderate candidate to begin with."

The Republican harping on the Solyndra thing is completely useless and just shows how out of touch they are.

    • It's a political winner among the electorate.

So why is neither candidate from the two wings of the one-party state talking it up? (Meaningless "all of the above" comments are all we get.)

The answer to that is just another illustration of why the electorate's wishes are ignored because they go against the wishes of certain special interests.

I can hear the "but, but Obama supports renewable energy!"

Yeah, he and the Dems supported it by picking losers with the stimulus and giving the solar industry a "black-eye." Some support there. The slow steady growth in solar is happening despite the Federal Government, not because of it.

Fortunately, the electorate isn't too bothered by that apparently, which is good, but solar still only makes up about 0.08% of electrical generation (yes, not even one tenth of one percent), according to the EIA (U.S. Energy Information Adminisration).

The people want more solar and the Federal government says, "meh."

    • For the firstt time we see investment in renewable energy surpassing investment in fossil fuels... People are waking up to reality because they are now living it and the change is coming whether the politicians like it or not. It is now not just a choice, it will be necessary for our survival. Amazing the lack of response on this.
