Tagg Romney Says He Wants To 'Take A Swing' At Obama

Image

Appearing on the Bill Lumaye Show, a North Carolina radio program, Tagg Romney — one of Mitt Romney’s five sons — said that he wanted to rush the stage and “take a swing” at President Obama during the debates. Transcript:

BILL LUMAYE: I’m going to ask something I think a lot of people want to know, or at least I do. What is it like for you to hear the President of the United States call your dad a liar. How do you react to that?

TAGG ROMNEY: Jump out of your seat and you want to rush down to the debate stage and take a swing at him. But you know you can’t do that because… Well, first there is a lot of Secret Service between you and him but also because this is the nature of the process.

No, I do not try to pass myself off as smart. I present facts, information, ideas and interpretations. I do not refer to my previous education, degree or language skills WHEN IT IS NOT CALLED FOR.

People who do, do it for only one reason, of course.

Well, in my travels in the third world where conditions were difficult, I saw plenty of Europeans and nary an American among the volunteers who did a fantastic job helping the starving, the poor, those living in terrible shanty towns, street urchins in Romania, orphans in Romania, those dying of AIDS, those in drought-stricken areas where people were dying of starvation, and also in Thailand where, admittedly, there was an American or two and where the food is excellent and incredibly cheap and lodgings comfortable. I wonder why. Perhaps because there were no comfortable air-conditioned lodgings and good food available for them there. The volunteers were Italian, German, Swedish, Swiss, French, Belgian and from most other European countries, but nary an American.

I don't care how much you have searched the internet, and anyway, I don't believe a word you write, neither do most people on Current.

I don't believe in anything positive about those Americans who are like you. I know plenty of good and wonderful Americans, you are not among them and you do represent the worst and the bad, as you consistently demonstrate.

"I saw plenty of Europeans and nary an American among the volunteers"

So, it appears that we cancel each other out.

Let's go by the studies and research, then. Americans are far more charitable than Europeans. I also added the reasons for this.

"I don't believe in anything positive about those Americans"

Again, even if you deny the truth, the reality is that Americans are the most generous people on the planet.

I took a RANDOM look at the museums recommended by Fodors Guide. I know that they are old and started mainly by kings, etc., but let's have a look at how they came to be public in the modern era.

      Louvre: The National Assembly (Government)
      Museum Island: Government
British Museum: Its foundations lie in the will of the physician and naturalist Sir Hans Sloane. (Private)
      Uffizi: (Government)
      Guggenheim Museum (Spain): Government
      Etc. This is the pattern.

Look at American museums and how almost ALL started.

That statement stems from the same kind of pretentiousness that prompted you to write in French, Russian, knowing full well that others could not read it, of course.

And the NY Museum of Art is better than those in Europe, but that is not the point.
      Not the point at all.

I will spell out the point: You demeaned Americans, saying that they are not charitable, despite my presentation of data confirming that they are. I then pointed to the origin of the great museums and you missed the point. In Europe, they are mostly from GOVERNMENT. But in America, virtually all are from the EVIL RICH.

Have you been to the National Museum of Art in Washington, D.C.? Do you know who created it?

Visitors will not know. Do you know why they will not know? You can enter and never see any donor's name. You will not see the name of the EVIL RICH guy who built it. That is because the founder had a stipulation: People who donated could not do it to buy prosterity but only in the public interest. And the museum is completely free. The donor, in fact, an AMERICAN EVIL RICH GUY, even fought with his children because they wanted to keep some pieces he collected. But no, no, no. This EVIL RICH AMERICAN, REPEAT, AMERICAN, MAN wanted the public to have the pieces.

      Check it out.

Better than the museums in Europe? LOL! You obviously have never been to Europe or never visited its top museums. Try the Louvres and the Ermitage for starters - they are state-owned and unparalelled and unsurpassed.

Your rant about the "EVIL RICH AMERICAN" is ludicrous and risible - you don't belong in the same category as he does, he's not part of the evil ones.

Yes. The NY Metropolitan Museum of Art is better than virtually anything in Europe. There is more to museums than just the paintings themselves, but apparently you do not know about that, but rather defer to the status quo of those who have pretenses to imagining that Europe is more cultured and sophisticated than America. It simply is not valid. Our orchestras, on the whole, outperform Europe's, for example.

Do you know the evil rich American who built that museum in D.C.? Seems you do not. He is hated by the Left-wingers.

There is no National Museum of Art in Washington DC. I presume you were thinking of the National Gallery of Art which was buit by Andrew W. Mellon. The person that liberals justifiably hate is Richard Mellon Scaife, who is indeed profoundly evil - that is why you worship him.

This is the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia, considered by those qualified as being the best and largest in the world. Right-click on the image to view image or open it in a new tab - all the buildings in that picture are part of the Hermitage Museum. America doesn't have anything coming close to it.

You had to look it up, of course.

Please read history. The Progressives consider Mellon to be one of the "robber barons." I am surprised that you do not know this.

Do you know what "robber barons" means?

Don't you know that Mellon was one of them?

I know you will contrive some way to deny this or avoid it, of course. But I will put a simple reference that can be verified, even though you will not accept it, the list of those considered "Robber Barons" is there, and this can be verified in many places. But I will not do it, because I KNOW I am correct:

It is silly and puerile to try to "prove" which museum is better. What is your point? Why do you do that, anyway?

The reason that I point out that America's museums are among the best in the entire world is not only because it is an irrefutable fact, but because you consistently defile, demean and degrade anything about America - the people, the values, the history, the Founding. Even a simply mentioning that Americans are generous gets a response of "oxymoron" and terms of disparagement from you.

It would be interesting to either get a clear response about why you consistently do that, or exchanges dealing with concepts about the topic of the threads.

Clinton dodged the draft, of course. He left ROTC after the lottery came in. He admitted, in writing, that he did not want to serve his country and meet his obligations and duty because he was... AFWAID....

Bush did become a pilot and served. Volunteered, in fact.

I'm sorry, I think you have a few typos there. You wrote, "Volunteered," when you should have written, "Placed in a non-combat unit by his daddy that never even went overseas," and you wrote, "in fact," when you should have written, "and was AWOL for nearly half of his military career."

Just thought would be good to clear that up. You have my permission to respond to my comment, regardless of whether or not you want it or need it.

I'm from a military family, and what Ann Romney said pissed me off! What a bunch of cowards, these people want to send your fathers, sons, and daughters to war. They’re too good to fight for this country. Take your A** back to your Mormon life, and leave us alone we don’t want to be a part of your crazy world. Your family is nothing but a herd of pathological liars. Deceitful, selfish greedy people whose only allegiance is to money. Why don’t you and your family permanently relocates to Switzerland where you keep your money, and yes, I said it!!

media matters who your link is attributed to is suspect in their lack honesty and biased reporting. So just about anything they report must be taken with a grain of salt. One doesn't have to rely on biased reporting from either the left or right to determne that the Obama administration hasn't exactly been much a friend to Israel. Just watching the relationship between Obama and Netanyahu deteriorate over the last four years is difficult to dispute. Being Jewish myself my own instincts throw up a red flag when I see the type of propoganda as presented by media matters. I would much rather trust the personal experience and testimony of the young Jewish woman who produced the video that I linked in the earlier comment. Obama has given up on his attempts to win Florida and will concentrate his campaign money elsewhere. Do you know why? Because Florida has a large Jewish population. Although they gave Obama most of their support four years ago they now recognize he has become a threat to the security of Isreal.

Are you saying that because you don't trust Media Matters, Ehud Barak did not say Obama has done more for Israeli security than any other U.S. president? If so, I can provide more links to that quote. He did say it and there is nothing you can say to etch-a-sketch it out of history.

I have had an electronic subscription to Media Matters for about 3 years now. I rarely read it anymore because it is over the top and distorts. The writers are deceitful and dissemble. It is unfortunate the Liberals refer to this pathetic source that is dedicated to sheer propaganda.

I really hate to provide Left-wingers with any sources for the TRUTH that I post. And I NEVER lie. I will post this, and you will contrive a way to deny it. I GUARANTEE you will, and I am eager to see how you do it. (Or you might just choose to ignore the TRUTH that I post, of course.)

It is the virtual CENTER of the perjury charge, for Christ's sake!

      The title of this paper:

"Perjury about being alone with Monica Lewinsky"

      http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/L-clintonaloneperjury.html

Now, I can anticipate your deceit in saying that I lied or did not write the correct thing. I did not have the precise words memorized, word for word; I ain't THAT smart. But go ahead and use that EXCUSE that I provided for you to start your denials of the concepts, the truth. Go right ahead. But it is for those on this public forum to see, of course.

You quoted Clinton as saying "I was never alone in the White House with THAT woman" - well, nowhere in the link you provided did he make such a statement. Gotcha! What Clinton DID say publicly was "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky." - that is where you got the "THAT woman". I knew you got it all wrong!

Your memory is very poor, Mishima - very poor indeed, and you confuse and mix things up. Better consult about this problem.

"Israel's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ehud Barak said the Obama White House has been the most supportive administration throughout the two countries' diplomatic relations on matters of Israeli security, in an interview to air Monday on "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."

How about having some concerns about Obama's lack of any clear vision at all, or his problem with the truth, geepers, there's so much out there, but then there's 162 +1 comment about this non-story.

There are plenty of positive comments we could make about Obama but why comment on the obvious?
Do you condone a threat on the president, however lame, made by the grown son of a candidate?
Threats like this help to legitimize (in the mind of an unstable person) violence against the president.
Dangerous ground we're treading on here.

What I don't is FEIGN MORAL OUTRAGE like those who want nothing more than to see Obummer get another 4 years to really screw us all over. Well, those of the dwindling 52% who actually pay federal income taxes. Those with children and grandchildren should also be concerned, because it's their kids' future that is totally screwed. I don't understand why the nut bags don't get it, and continue with the mantra,"Obama has had many achievements, well, uh, uh, I can't think of them right now, but he has".

It goes without saying that any normal person would have concerns if the spoken "threat" was serious. Under the law, the definition of a threat is, "a threat, combined with the present ability to carry it out". Coffee anyone? Wake up!!! To make an issue out of a non-issue is just more of the same old perverted and twisted crap that the nut bags continue to chant. I remember the Moonies, they were quite big in Los Angeles back in the 80s, I worked on some "issues" involving that cult. Point is, those members were certainly more level headed than the freaks that continully spew BS about how great their mesiah is. The normal people, who make up the majority, see them for a bunch of loosers and cry babies, and tune them out. However, sometimes it's fun to venture into the sewer to see what the minority is saying about the topic du jour. I just shake my head and ask myself, WTF?!?!?!

It's so easy to just, walk away and accomplish something. :)
