Yes, Really: Romney Surrogate Says Colin Powell Endorsed Obama Because He's Black

A day after former Secretary of State Colin Powell said he supported Barack Obama based on health care and foreign policy, a top Mitt Romney surrogate floated a different theory. Campaign co-chair and former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu said Powell likely endorsed the president because they are both black.Appearing on CNN, Sununu said he applauded the retired general, but then added: “Frankly, when you take a look at Colin Powell, you have to wonder if that's an endorsement based on issues, or whether he's got a slightly different reason for preferring President Obama.” In case that was unclear, he then specified that he was referring to the men’s race.
Hours later, Sununu backpedaled furiously, saying that he is a friend of Powell’s and that he didn’t in fact doubt his motives behind the endorsement.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Sununu has made headlines for racially charged comments. In July, he called Obama “foreign,” saying that the president doesn’t understand the “American system” because “he spent his early years in Hawaii smoking something.”

We should actually be applauding him, he's the only one of them actually speaking the truth of what they believe (repugnant as it is).

This man Sununu in one interview summed up the entirety of 2012 and the US Republican Party.

I never had any respect for John Sununu when served Bush or was on CNN. Am sure Lincoln would be proud of what has become of the Republcian Party today.

"I'm sure white people support other white people....."
At one time people were sure the earth was flat but that also is irrelevant. Are you offering this as justification because it really has nothing to do with the topic?

Honestly, I can't imagine John Sununu "backpedaling furiously." Not without falling on his ass.

It is no surprise that one of Reagan's flunkies, who got thrown out of Washington, has no problem at all letting his inner BIGOTED RACIST CORE show to the rest of the world. And what does dear old willard do? Pat him on the head and continue to allow him to speak. And his silence gives consent to EVERYTHING said in his name. Therefore willard is a BIGOTED RACIST WIHT NO REDEEMING CHARACTISTICS. Col Wilkerson on the Ed Show stated without any exception his party is full of BIGOTED RACISTS.

The racism of yesteryear has come full circle in our county. The entire world embraced our choice of a black President four years ago and most nations still support him. The fringe elements of bigotry have crept through into the mainstream once again with conservative mouthpieces planting the seeds of hate. The only doubt lies here at home rooting from bigotry. Watch the white hands paint Obama in Blackface at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2012/10/bamboozling-obama.html

The Republicans have adapted a mantra of 'make no apologies,' and it really seems to be working out well for them. It got them an endorsement from Meatloaf, so why worry about a retired general?
