People don't typically secede... regional and local governments do. And currently, no STATE has any 'right' to secede from these United States of America. Secession hasn't been an option for states since the end of the civil war. One of the major outcomes of that war made them 'united'.

Hey Gypsygirl1965, I am heartened by your response. To use a cliche, but true here I hope, it takes a big person to admit when they're wrong. I don't always agree with all here, but that's the point isn't it? We all get to have our say and sometimes we even enlighten each other. Sometimes I'm won over and other times more entrenched based on commentary that runs the gamut from profound to profane. I like how they mix it up here. People's backgrounds seem as diverse as their philosophy. That's how I like it.
