Ron Paul, Prince of the Lunatic Fringe, says goodbye to the U.S. House of Representatives. Clear thinking Americans reply: “Good riddance!”Ron Paul is, and always has been, a fringe politician, a Prince of the Lunatic Fringe, appealing to a small and deluded minority of Americans. White supremacists, conspiracy theorists, Christian extremists and a handful of deluded and misinformed progressives all followed this odd and demented political pied piper.
Paul’s past is filled with racism, anti-semitism, homophobia and misogyny. Paul is opposed to federal civil rights legislation, believes states have the right to mandate school prayer and would deprive women of the right to reproductive health care.

"If we wish to be compassionate with our fellow man, we must learn to engage in dispassionate analysis. In other words, thinking with our hearts, rather than our brains, is a surefire method to hurt those whom we wish to help."
"People who denounce the free market and voluntary exchange, and are for control and coercion, believe they have more intelligence and superior wisdom to the masses. What's more, they believe they've been ordained to forcibly impose that wisdom on the rest of us. Of course, they have what they consider good reasons for doing so, but every tyrant that has ever existed has had what he believed were good reasons for restricting the liberty of others."

Ah, the Somalia meme. Never fails to make an appearance.
It looks terribly clever and all, until you realise that democracy can't just be magicked into existence by snapping your fingers, holding an election and passing a few laws.
Democracy is far more than this. Its foundation is the rule of law, or in other words individual liberty and property rights, sustained by enforceable contracts, an independent judiciary and accountable, constitutional government.
These ancient rights date from Alfred the Great, so Somalia (which has only been a country for less than a century, and where there is chaos - not liberty) has a good deal of catching up to do.

1. I don't know about you, but in the recent election, I saw very little to distinguish between one corporatist, Goldman Sachs-sponsored, status quo candidate and the other, both of whom support such "democratic" measures as the Patriot Act, TSA, NDAA, extra-judicial killings of American Citizens, lining the pockets of foreign despots with aid money, the racist, unwinnable war on drugs, socialisation of corporate debt, inflating the currency (a tax on the poor that dwarfs anything that might be raised from taxing the rich) and perpetual, undeclared, special interest wars.
2. How can you possibly know? Has there been a massive outbreak of "unmitigated capitalism" somewhere that I haven't heard about? Please, if you do nothing else today, try and hoist in the difference between free market capitalism (the fairest, most moral system there is, because it depends on contracts, agreements and the voluntary, fair exchange of value) and Mussolini-style crony capitalism or corporatism, a system where the public and corporate sectors merge, and economic mobility is the sole preserve of the connected.

Ron Paul offered the only real hope this country had in the last election. He was not without his negatives, none of which were "racism, anti-semitism, homophobia and misogyny" as unimatrix0 states in his post but even with those negatives, he was light years better than what we have.

Ron Paul was/is a "Charlatan of the First Waters". He's one of the most successful of the old school Snake-Oil salesman that preyed on the extremely gullible and politically naïve, swindling millions out of them and giving back nothing in return...not even hope. Even a fool could listen to his bologna and tell he was bull shitting and that his political supposition s were so far fetched as to border on the silly. And now there's his son. Oh, and your withering contempt for the individuals who contributed to Dr Paul's campaign, as opposed to the mega-corporations and vested interests that sustained Obama and Romney's.

I’ll take just one section of this flatulent nonsense and deconstruct it in a few short paragraphs.
Ron Paul on race:
In the long run, the only way racism can be overcome is through the philosophy of individualism, which I have promoted throughout my life. Our rights come to us not because we belong to some group, but our rights come to us as individuals. And it is as individuals that we should judge one another. Racism is a particularly odious form of collectivism whereby individuals are treated not on their merits but on the basis of group identity. Nothing in my political philosophy, which is the exact opposite of the racial totalitarianism of the twentieth century, gives aid or comfort to such thinking. To the contrary, my philosophy of individualism is the most radical intellectual challenge to racism ever posed.
Government exacerbates racial thinking and undermines individualism because its very existence encourages people to organize along racial lines in order to lobby for benefits for their group. That lobbying, in turn, creates animosity and suspicion among all groups, each of which believes that it is getting less of its fair share than the others.
Instead, we should quit thinking in terms of race—yes, in 2008 it is still necessary to say that we should stop thinking in terms of race—and recognize that freedom and prosperity benefit all Americans. As Thomas Sowell points out, lobbyists for various racial groups will spend all their time trying to enact programs that specifically help their own group, even though that group would reap far more benefit from advancing economic freedom in general. He gives the example of taxi licensing restrictions, a government policy that disproportionately hurts blacks. But since it is not thought of as a racial issue per se, racial pressure groups do absolutely nothing to overturn it. That’s another reason we should stop thinking in terms of race. Consider Sowell:
"Politically, however, it makes far more sense for a black leader to fight tooth and nail for a hundred more CETA [Comprehensive Employment and Training Act] jobs in the Philadelphia ghetto than to fight for an end to taxi licensing restrictions, even though the latter would probably mean thousands more jobs for blacks—jobs with far higher pay than CETA jobs and of permanent duration. Ghetto jobs are an earmarked benefit, however few, tenuous and low paid. Benefits to blacks as members of the general public are no feather in a black leader’s cap, even if blacks are benefited more than others by gaining access that was nearly impossible for them before.

The problem with smart people is that they seem like crazy people to dumb people. The libertarian philosophy is diametrically opposed to racism by its nature. Libertarians focus on equal rights for all individuals regardless of class or connection. Our drug war is the most racist initiative in the history of the world and Ron Paul would stop that by removing federal prohibition.

The fact is that the average man's love of liberty is nine-tenths imaginary, exactly like his love of sense, justice and truth. He is not actually happy when free; he is uncomfortable, a bit alarmed, and intolerably lonely. Liberty is not a thing for the great masses of men. It is the exclusive possession of a small and disreputable minority, like knowledge, courage and honor. It takes a special sort of man to understand and enjoy liberty — and he is usually an outlaw in democratic societies. - Mencken

BUT... RON PAUL’S RIGHT– WE NEED A LIBERTY REVOLUTIONRon Paul gave an expansive farewell address to Congress this week marking the end of a 30-year career that, for many, defined contemporary libertarianism. His departure from public life comes at a particularly painful time for all who value his message of freedom and limited government as conservatives recently lost a painful electoral defeat.
Paul’s speech was part eulogy for the Constitution, part battle cry to renew the fight for individual freedom and limited government that it is supposed to represent.
He implored Americans to start an intellectual awakening of America’s founding principles—a Liberty Revolution

Please don't waste your time attempting to reason with haters, man.
Their emotionalism has closed their minds. I made a write in vote for Ron Paul.
Not because I believe in hero worship, or necessarily the man's character, nor
many of his stances I may not necessarily cotton to...But simply because he had
the good sense to denounce the Federal Reserve, Prohibition, the endless
foreign wars of Corporate Piracy/ futile nation building which has plunged our

I felt it important to back the Ron Paul Revolution which seeks to bring these
crucial issues to the forefront of the average citizens' empty heads. In truth,
I intensely dislike ALL politicians. I feel sewer workers have more honesty.
I wholeheartedly believe in what George Carlin told us: That when we realize
how stupid the average person is, and more, that half of them are way more
appalingly stupid than even that...It's easy to see we get the Government we
vote for after all, because as inept bunglars they realy are, they are, after all
only a reflection of the people who voted for them. - 6 months ago

Chalk that revolting development up to the changes for the worse this
mismanaged website made years back in one by one jetisoning most of
the novel and admirable features of the website format. They used to have
color coded bars, like the signal strength of a cell phone, and only votes on
the popularity of the newsworthyness of a posted article. Now it's devolved
into the freshman high school popularity contest level. Have you ever read
the immature, petty " headlines " amounting to nothing more or less than
using a politician's words to discredit him/her ? It's nauseating that a once
progressive website like this has degenerated into a sewer of political BS.
Everybody's shit stinks of course. Yet some of these people are so wet
behind the ears you'd think it's only a matter to get past the stench to make
it food for thought. - 6 months ago

“6 Rights You Could Lose Under President Ron Paul”:
“You may have noticed section 1(A) of the We the People Act above, which would have eliminated all federal court precedents "relating to the free exercise or establishment of religion." Does this make you nervous? It should, regardless of your religious beliefs (or lack thereof), because it allows any state to target minority faiths and uncommon religious practices. It also allows states to marble the distinction between religious doctrine and secular law - exactly the sort of theocratic policymaking that has done so much damage in the Middle East and elsewhere."

Ron Paul’s “Super PAC” Sugar Daddy: Builds Toys For The CIA, Spies On U.S. Citizens...'
http://exiledonline.com/ron-pauls-super-pac-sugar-daddy-builds-toys-for-the-cia-....Fraud Paul didn't seem all that concerned about targeting specific terrorist suspects back in the day. Suddenly it's an outrage (now that a Democrat sits in the White House):
Heading/Topic: Terrorism: Letters of marque and reprisal
"Calling the September 11, 2001, attacks an act of "air piracy", Paul introduced the Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001. Letters of marque and reprisal, authorized by article I, section 8 of the Constitution, would have targeted specific terrorist suspects instead of invoking war against a foreign state.[316] Paul reintroduced this legislation as the Marque and Reprisal Act of 2007.[361] He voted with the majority for the original Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists in Afghanistan.[313] In April 2009, following the Maersk Alabama hijacking, he proposed issuing letters of marque to combat the problem of piracy in Somalia.[362]"

"Paul voted with the majority for the original Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists in Afghanistan.[313] considering that it was a response to the September 11 attacks."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Ron_Paul

As did countless millions of people. It was so damn obvious what would happen, even a fifteen-year-old could predict all that. Ron Paul only repeated what others had correctly predicted.

Really? Did they? That's pretty cool actually because it would mean that your brothers, son, daughter, husband, grand-daughter, three nieces, eldest of your great-nephews, all of your numerous friends, and numerous colleagues are just as insane as Ron Paul.
I mean after all, they too predicted a financial collapse due to the Federal Reserve's quantitative easing policies in order to try to prevent a financial crisis brought on by a corrupt government's empire building foreign policy - while at the same time using these wars on terror to promote restrictions on the citizens' civil rights through such things as the NDAA, TSA and the Patriot Act.
You must really hate your family members as well. Talking such crazy nutty racist nonsense.
