I had an epiphany last night ... We all know ""about "Reality Shows" and how they have basically taken over T.V. ... Much to some's dismay ... However ... I just realized how these types of shows are truly ... "the cross over format" ... between ... Television ... the Internet ... & Social Media ... I don't know if this is a new idea ... But, two major things are happening ... "Podcasts" ... On the Internet side are becoming "The" Major Vehicle for "real time communication" between "content creators" and their "audience" ... On "this" side of the spectrum ... "podcasts" use social media like Twitter and Facebook etc... to establish "Live" two-way communication between all who are interested ...a real online community forms ... not"Just" between the creator of the podcast and the "audience" ... But, also between "the audience" and other members of "the audience" ... and real "connections" are made between "like-minded individuals" who never before would have had the chance "to meet" ... "THIS" is a truly historical social development that "We" are all witnessing in "real-time" ... On the Television side ... are "The Reality Shows" ... although in their current manifestation ... they are still "viewed" as traditional T.V. Shows ... as an audience we watch the shows, but have no "real" connection with "those" involved ... However, as time marches on ...and both of these two formats evolve ... "The Podcast" & "The Reality Show" ... These two mediums ... I am suggesting ... will merge into the same "entity" ... "That is" ... "Podcasts" will become "Reality Shows" & "Reality Shows" will become "Podcasts" ... "real" connections via social media will be made ... and "real" communities will develop ... in turn ... "This"... integration between the two different formats will become one and the same ... "The Result" ...being... (between now & the not too distant future) ... That we will ... "All" ... have a "Part" in the "unfolding " of the ... "Show" ... "Mister DeMille ... "Are ..."You" ... ready for ..."Your" ... close up?" ...
