It is rather difficult to not be stunned by what lengths some will go to with being naaive' and
the wish to 'sculpt' their bods. Especially what a farce the entire scheme was.... I would
have to say 'there's an idiot born every minute.' Sad, really.

Vanity is a hell of a thing.

The tragedy of our times is that we are so eye centered, so eye-besotted, so appearance besotted, that women aren't even doing this for themselves, but actually to gain attention of others. They assume they're being judged by the shape or perfection of their
bodies. Now look how someone in Mexico took advantage of that crapola.......

I recall the problem beginning when I was still in high school and Twiggy began as a
'young boy body' model in Britain. Then no one could be "too rich or too skinny."
Absurd ideologies.
I think this country created eating disorders such as anorexia and bulemia.

A lot of people are also addicted to food.... as one person mentioned, morbid
obesity is at its highest peak here in the U.S. Some people eat for comfort, but
it becomes out of control.
