And yes, I cook at home now. My wife really appreciates it to, unless I make fish. She doesn't like how I cook fish.

this is such an odd issue.
i mean i expected to suffer my super jew moms harassment about me raising my child not in accordance with tradition.so i am prepared for every idealogical battle that will come in regards to it.
but i wasnt prepared for the kitchen/princess issue where my mom seems to feel one must provide a lil girl with a kitched set toy to play with, as tho it were the same need as diapers.
again and again we have this same argument.i am simply not going to give her a kitchen toy as it is stupid, nor bratz dolls, as they are stupid, or anything geared towards princess bullshit.
it is the feminism my moms generation fought for.
if my daughter wants to be a home maker when she grows up, good for her.if she decides that she wants to be a princess and live subject to the will of men, that is her choice to make as a grown up.but i shouldnt instill that as a value in her when she is young

Without any help from an easybake oven, I was cooking from junior high onwards. I am a reasonably decent stove top cook, and was never afraid to try new recipes or "hack" my own from copying the basic steps of things I read in cooking magazines and adapting them to my own tastes/budget.

I had to learn how to use a REAL oven when I was a kid because the folks were working, and too damn poor to put me in day care. Learning how to gut and cook fish, birds and deer came a few years later.
Either way, if my wife and I ever settle down and have kids, we'll probably avoid pigeonholing them into stupid gender roles from the 50s.

Easy Bake Oven is and always has been a product marketed for girls. This is as silly as asking Harboro to stop marketing GI Joe for boys since women have now joined the military and some are even in combat roles.
There's nothing wrong with boys cooking. Hell most of my guy friends cook because such a small percentage of women these days still engage in traditional roles and most the top chefs on the teevee are men anyhow. Most of the men in my family can cook as well, and not just BBQ and steaks.
Whatever happened to letting boys be boys and girls be girls?

You don't think the future "male" chefs of the world would benefit from some early Easy Bake Oven training?

It's just a silly issue that is being drummed up by the all things gay crew over at Think Progress to promote gender confusion.
Boys wanting to seriously learn about cooking would benefit more by playing in an actual kitchen instead of playing with a cheap little toy made by Chinese slaves. They could also watch the cooking shows, which in my opinion are the only shows on teevee even worth watching.
In fact, the more I think about this story it just looks like blatant product placement masquerading as news just in time for the end of the year shopping season blow out.
Sorry, feeling a bit blunt this morning and that's just my opinion.

um it went away when we realized how counter product sexism and the gender roles we designate as a result of the sexism was.
unless you are in favor of stripping people of their humanity in favor of limiting them to only a status of gender, as dictated by society?

lol actually no, as i have never seen a reduction come off well under a light bulb lol.
but hey, millions of future applebees "chefs" could benefit from the early training.

The mainstream media and the educational system are already doing that in a large part with their promotion of gender confusion

nope, that was the old world sexism of defining one by their gender, and now gender confusion isnt an issue as gender isn an issue.
only if you personally decide to make gender an issue, is it hard to handle how a woman can be a doctor, and a man a nurse.for the rest of us we have moved on

the boys in my family have always been intrigued by the Easy Bake Oven....and the grown men in my family are great cooks! This little girl is correct, Easy Bake Oven marketing is stupidly sexist.

Good for her! I personally have pretty recently discovered more serious cooking, and found I enjoy it (of course the results help a lot!)!
