Members of the Westboro Baptist Church plan to picket Sandy Hook Elementary School “to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment.” On Friday a gunman killed 20 school children and six adults at the Sandy Hook Elementary School located in Newtown, Connecticut.

On Saturday, Dec. 15, Shirley Phelps-Roper announced that the church would picket Sandy Hook Elementary School on Sunday with the following tweet:

Westboro will picket Sandy Hook Elementary School to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment.

Enthusiasts of the website Reddit and others are planning to form a silent blockade to counter the Westboro pickets.

    • These people have serious mental issues and I believe they should have to give up tax exempt status. They should be labeled as the devil's helpers they are a massive hate group/cult and should be ripped apart. Free speech is only a right to a certain degree. Why is it they can say and do what they want but it's harassment if we follow people screaming at them.

Anonymous - Message To The Westboro Baptist Church

      Hello, Westboro Baptist Church.
Allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Anonymous.
As you may not have acknowledged our existence, we, on the otherhand, have recognized yours. We have seen your depraved methods of disseminating your message of hate throughout The United States of America. We have witnessed you defaming the memories of those who sacrificed themselves for the security of our nation, disrupting the peace of the educational environment within high schools and universities, breeding hatred within the fragile minds of your own next of kin, desecrating the name of God by protesting in the proximity of churches and synagogues, and mangling the biblical text to conform in accordance with your malevolent cause.
Your pseudo-faith is abhorrent, and your leaders, repugnant. Your impact and cause is hazardous to the lives of millions and you fail to see the wrong in promoting the deaths of innocent people. You are self-appointed servants of God who rewrite the words of His sacred scripture to adhere to your prejudice. Your hatred supersedes your faith, and you use faith to promote your hatred.
Since your one-dimensional thought protocol will conform not to any modern logic, we will not debate, argue, or attempt to reason with you. Instead, we have unanimously deemed your organization to be harmful to the population of The United States of America, and have therefore decided to execute an agenda of action which will progressively dismantle your institution of deceitful pretext and extreme bias, and cease when your zealotry runs dry. We recognize you as serious opponents, and do not expect our campaign to terminate in a short period of time. Attrition is our weapon, and we will waste no time, money, effort, and enjoyment, in tearing your resolve into pieces, as with exposing the incongruity of your distorted faith.
Anonymous possesses a plethora of information within our network about the many divisions of Christianity and numerous other religious doctrines. Many of us are versed in the biblical text, and we can identify each and every of your violations of scripture. You abuse the Holy Bible which you do not fully comprehend and know not of the thousands of authors to impose upon other people when you can simply coalesce with your loved ones and live in the manner you deem plausible. You engage in reciprocal fornication with another man and preach adultery as a sin. You, Shirley Lynn Phelps-Roper violated Deuteronomy 5:18. As a result, your son Sam is the living, breathing proof of your act of simple loneliness. Simply put, it takes not a genius to realize an arrogant woman's loose moral string, and its predilection to progressively wither and fray.
From the time you have received this message, our attack protocol has past been executed and your downfall is underway. Do not attempt to delude yourselves into thinking you can escape our reach, for we are everywhere, and all-seeing, in the same sense as God. We are a body of individuals who fight for a purpose higher than self, and seek to bring the malevolent intent of the malefactors to light.
We will not allow you to corrupt the minds of America with your seeds of hatred. We will not allow you to inspire aggression to the social factions which you deem inferior. We will render you obsolete. We will destroy you. We are coming.
      Everyone is equal.
      We are Anonymous.
      We are Legion.
      We do not Forgive.
      We do not Forget.
      Expect us.

    • I don't really want to incite MORE violence, but wouldn't it be kind of satisfying if next crazy fuck who goes on a shooting spree decides to do it at the Westboro Baptist Church? Then they can picket their own funerals.

    • I don't see much of a leap from God allowed these killings for not living the way we say, to God wants these killings for not living the way we say.

When The Westboro Baptist Church, Evangelical Christians and faith based Republican politicians say you are dead because you didn't do as we say, then they believe people should be dead for not doing as they say. We know what they do with what they believe. They act on it.

Be careful or you could be adding the American Inquisitions to the list of examples of Christian morality one day!

    • Here is an A to Z list of what the FBI investigates.
      http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/investigate/what_we_investigate

There's a gruesome history between the FBI and it's knowledge of WBC and Phelps. Now I'm beginning to wonder if the FBI is part of the problem considering they were INVITING the WBC to Quantico so it could "learn from them." Fortunately it was brought to a halt once a top FBI official became aware of it. Read this for an eye-opener on the FBI. Seems that the lower-grade FBI agents are running amok and improperly chapperoned.

      http://www.christianpost.com/news/fbi-wanted-to-learn-of-domestic-terrorism-from...

These links make more clear, to me at least, how swift mud could have been allowed to happen. Has the FBI lowered its standards for hiring competent agents? Are these agent now being allowed to act on ideas that are not well-thoughtout? There's a sub-link in the first link showing they act on "voter fraud." Well, their doing one hell of a bad job in that regard. Otherwise Al Gore would have been president instead of GWB.

I wonder if a person wanting to join the FBI is required to declare their political agenda? Is the FBI hiring more republicans than democrats or independents? We're gonna have to start digging into the FBI's hiring practices to see why there are so many failures and falsehoods in that organization. Maybe we should start a chat on studying the FBI more closely. They seem to be getting more and more radical in their practices. When you decide to invite a known subversive group to your facility to learn from them instead of infiltrating that group like they used to, something is really rotten.

And I, personally, resent J EDGAR HOOVER's name still being on the FBI Headquarters building. This was a man who totally denounced gays and took aim at them, while he himself never married, but instead had a long-time relationship and lived with another man. Total hypocrit. And he, along with his buddy McCarthy attempted to make Hollywood's best and brightest stars of the time into communists. It was pathetic. This man was pure evil.

"The most famous examples of McCarthyism include the speeches, investigations, and hearings of Senator McCarthy himself; the Hollywood blacklist, associated with hearings conducted by the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC); and the various anti-communist activities of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) under Director J. Edgar Hoover. McCarthyism was a widespread social and cultural phenomenon that affected all levels of society and was the source of a great deal of debate and conflict in the United States."

    • What's the difference between the Westboro Baptist Church claiming God allowed these killings and conservatives like Mike Huckabee saying God allowed these killings? Both comments come from sick, demented, infantile minds.

If conservatives don't like what the Westboro Baptist Church is doing then they have a bit of a self awareness problem.

The Westboro Baptist Church is conservatism in all it's glory

The Westboro Baptist Church is far right conservatism allowed to take it's natural course.

Give far right conservatism and Evangelical Christians the power that they want in the United States and they will be killing people in the public square for not doing as they say. Killing people and destroying cultures is after all what Christians have always done when given the power of the state. You can not find a single instance when they didn't do it.

When I first posted the petition there was just little over 40,000. Ten hours after your signature (83,050) it has reached 102,134. The minimum requirement to have President Obama address it is 25,000. I believe we can reach 250,000 signatures. I hope everyone shares the petition with friends and family.

Yes, now these bible-thumpers are claiming that everything has gone to hell because "God has been taken out of the schools." One such minister has told his flock that God does not feel welcome in the school system, and that's why all these children were murdered. We're going to have to be hearing more of this crap in the days to come.

I'm sorry, but I have to apologize to Newtown, and to the Sandy Hook Elementary for considering that they were a community of bible-thumpers. I've since learned from THIRDSECTION that it was a hate-church from Topeka, KS, WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH, that led me to incorrectly assume it was affiliated with Newtown, Conn. For this reason I am withdrawing my previous assessment of the town and its people. Religion is good for some, but religions that spew hate such was WBC should be treated as terrorists and acted on accordingly.

Thanks for the info ThirdS. I'm just finding out about this. I was under the impression that WBC was a church in their community. Why the hell else would they even be there, right? Now it's coming together and it's even sicker than I first thought. Topeka, KS, huh? May the good lord huff and puff and blow them all to hell in the next hurricane.

I've heard nothing about it in the news down here, which is not surprising because I am, unfortunately, surrounded by baptists so I'm sure there's some kind of politicing going on. Gov. Scott himself is a bible-thumper, and you saw what he tried to do in Miami to keep the Dems. from voting, right? He shortened the early voting time to one week. Well, Miami-Dade is a liberal county. Not so much on the west coast of FL. Well, not so much in most of the counties in FL. In fact, in my community, I'm probably one in about 6 I know of who are openly willing to admit to even being a Dem.

      Thanks again for the info.

One more thing since this group is so notorious for this kind of behavior, at least it seems to me since they are willing to travel from KS to Conn, how do we know that these people aren't already on the FBI's watch list? It's 1:55 a.m. here now. I'm shutting down, but I'm going to see what I can find out tomorrow.

      Good night.

    • Going to the bible!

      Leviticus 19:18
Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

      1 John 4:20
If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

I want to see their tax returns!!!!
      Romans 13:7
Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

That's not a bad idea, but the problem is that would only prevent the ones who were documented sexual offenders. All the others could go up the the school and practice their hate speech to their hearts content.

What I really am scared of though is that the W.B.C. is picking a target that, potentially, will be a financial gold mine for them. Most of the W.B.C.'s traveling expenses are covered by lawsuits that the file when they are attacked for being assholes. So my concern isn't just that the W.B.C. is going to put on a display that will question whether or not humanity is a species that should exist if it can produce assholes like that, but I am also concerned that someone might snap if it puts too much pressure on the community around Sandy Hook Elementary School and take a swing at the W.B.C., and giving them technical legal grounds to vulture money off of a horrible situation.

I'm more worried about the opposite. These bible-thumpers are also big gun enthusiasts. When this story first broke, the town was described as a "peaceful little town." Sure, the cops there probably cover up a lot more than they report. Can't give the town a bad rap, you know. No, I'm worried about these bible-thumpers bringing guns to the demonstration and shooting the cavalry.

Legally recognize Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group.

This group has been recognized as a hate group by organizations, such as The Southern Poverty Law Center, and has repeatedly displayed the actions typical of hate groups.

Their actions have been directed at many groups, including homosexuals, military, Jewish people and even other Christians. They pose a threat to the welfare and treatment of others and will not improve without some form of imposed regulation.

Thinking the Phelps Gang is a tiny worm trying to get attention. Good neighbors everywhere will keep blocking their efforts to hurt grieving people.

Now, if media would just do their part and ignore this handful of fools, they would disappear.
