Of course The Deniers will vote this down big time. ;)

Your are always an inspiration to all of us Jan!
You are like the Green Energizer Bunny!!I wish I could say more pecking away with my big fingers on this little cell phone. But, to sum it up... I think you can understand the shared feelings of everyone here that you have touched and inspired so deeply.
The planet ... and all it's lifeforms (including myself) say to you Jan..."thank you" ~ and wish you 1000% success in 2013 and all your future campaigns to stewart sanity, integrity and responsibility into the mindset and conciseness of our Leaders and the misinformed and mislead population!
Let's kick Ass next year on a Government that truly has hijacked our democracy from it's citizens... A Government that thinks that it can continue leading our country to the worst interests of it's Population... A Government where we go to war for the criminal profit of the chosen corrupt 1%...
They control the message of the Corporate Media... TV, Radio, Press & Internet... They are probably reading this post...right now making booking arrangements at camp FEMA... Their misinformed henchmen think that they are the patriots and we all are Eco-Terrorists... Just another Lie to keep people stupid... and obedient !!! Just another page out of history from the "Fascist Government Operations Manual". History has seen these same police and military attempts before. It's called Fascism not Democracy.
THE TRUTH SHALL SET ALL OF US FREE!!!
These fascist handmaidens gathering this information on all of us... should all realize that a Government built on "a foundation of lies" it will not succeed ! History shows us all... that all corrupt lying governments are doomed to collapse... (Just like ours is... A Government Rotten to it's Core.) The history books have plenty of examples. Some of us have learnt from history... it not too late for the misinformed to take off the red white and blue colored glasses and take a good long look at the correct side of history and realize the corrupt ship they are manning the oars on is sinking and there aren't enough life boats for the hired help...But, here is the good part...
You Jan and, all of us want to build a Government based on Truth... That is why we all continue... we won't quit!!! We Can't!!!! The key to success is simple...Keep Spreading the Truth and demanding Full Transparently in "OUR"Government... YES THAT IS OUR HOUSE... That IS The People's Whitehouse not the corporate headquarters of corrupt above the law corporations... like it is today.
Yes......It's Time to kick ALL the Corporations out of "Our" Whitehouse!!!!
Clearly... All of those corporations are the people's enemy. Don't believe their PR Spin... We are a threat to their exorbitant profits... They want everything! They want Austerity and cheap wages... they are not our friends! Look at Forsed Austerity in Spain, Greece and Portugal....Understand we are in their sites next..., We do have a Choice! If we cut spending on the Military back to 1990.... We still would continue to out spent the whole world on Military Spending combined. No Austerity is needed on the citizens or social security at all!!! Then add to that cutting Corporate welfare, and U.S. Foreign Aid for Weapons... = Again... Austerity Problem Solved !!!... well almost... Austerity is only a Symptom of the core disease behind all of this. Here is the Core Disease... It's Time to kick ALL the Corporations and Lobbyists out of "Our Whitehouse!!!!"
WE NEED TO DEMAND THIS!!!! They will try to side-tracked us on the symptoms.
But , we need to demand ALL Corporations and Lobbyists out of "Our Whitehouse!!!!"
The Whitehouse is the Peoples house... No corporations allowed!!!We can do this.... Because we out number them...
WE HAVE A LOT OF WORK AHEAD OF ALL OF US...
Starting with Keystone Pipeline= ALL for targeted $$$ sales to China & India All profits to the corrupt 1%.
* Remember these are ALL "The People's Resources" not owned by the corporations or the politicians to do with as they please !!! THESE ARE OURS ~ WE DO HAVE A SAY!!!
Fracking is the Poisoning our Water, Food and families all for $$$ sales to China & India All profits to the corrupt 1%.
Monsanto Is a corrupt Military contractor "KNOWN FOR LIEING" With a corrupt plan to hide their poison in all our food... that is a "Crime Against Humanity" A Government plan to make the U.S Population... Human Lab Animals. The FDA is run by Monsanto moonlighting employees.
That brings us to the core problem.... Our Corrupt Government..
Bradley Manning and WikiLeaks, Jeremy Hammond, Julian Assange,Tomas Drake and other very brave people... they are NOT terrorists.... they all have something in common... All of these very brave people have exposed serous crimes committed by our Government... All of these people tried to sound the whistle To expose corruption and criminal activity ~ these people are patriotic heros who stand for the truth...
Yes.....The Truth shall set us all free!!!!
Thank You Again Jan for your strong tireless work ,
Onward!!!!

Talk about inspiring, you aren't so bad yourself.;0). I agree with everything you typed, starting with Keystone XL and climate change, to rebuilding after Hurricane Sandy, all the way to labelling GMOs nationally in 2013. We must nip this corruption in the bud and you are so correct that it starts with our government that is giving aid and comfort to those who are so selfishly taking our environment and livelihoods from us. I look forward to doing much more in 2013 to help bring about real change. I am encouraged to know there are others out here who feel the same. Thank you. And BTW, I voted your comment up since someone bent on being meanspirited decided to vote it down for no reason. Maybe in 2013 Current can get its act together too and eliminate this bogus cliquish feature and let peoples' words stand on their merits as it used to be here. Happy New Year to you.

If future generations are to remember us with gratitude rather than contempt, we must leave them something more than the miracles of technology. We must leave them a glimpse of the world as it was in the beginning, not just after we got through with it.

Your welcome. I've had a hard time getting on Current lately. When I first tried to comment on this article I got an 'Oops' message that an error had occurred. It would take forever to get to the community page, but like I've seen before, I couldn't open any of the articles.
By the way, we are still snowed in with about 4ft of snow, the first 2ft being very wet and compressed (if it was our normal light fluffy snow, we'd probably have 6ft of snow). It has snowed almost everyday since October 27, even if its just been a trace. We've already passed the record for the total yearly snowfall and we still have at three months left of winter.
It use to snow in late October, early November then the temperature would drop and it wouldn't snow again until February/March. The temperature dropped down to -30c with a wind chill of -41c last week, and usually at that temperature it's too cold to snow. But not now. That would be our normal temperature for this time of year. But in the past ten years our winters have been getting milder and milder. I had to actually look for my long johns because I hadn't needed them for so long. At least today, with the microfibre outer wear, I don't have to wear my heavy two-layered parka anymore.
I heard that Montreal just had the biggest snow storm in recorded history. The last huge storm was in 1971, when I lived there. I remember it well, our car was completely buried and my husband had to climb down the fire escape (we lived on the 2nd floor of a Duplex) because we had a six foot snow drift up against our front door and could get out that way. I can not imagine a snow storm worse than that one was. But they seem to be having more and more severe storms back East.
It's important that we continue to report these extreme weather changes to the public, because if we don't who will?

Let me tell you a secret . Despair is as much a weapon AGAINST the masses as FEAR . Remember , you are not alone , we all are one . To BEAT despair , you must act , even a very small thing will help . Also meditate on Impermanence . Take the pressure off yourself . Comedy breaks are good to .

I hear you. In between times of beating the drum on what is happening up here in the Arctic, I try to relieve the stress by watching comedy, painting/drawing, or reading different genre. It's the only way to stay sane in this increasingly insane world.

"I couldn't open any of the articles."
You could use my browser or use their settings.
K-Meleon-db ( http://home.dbdbdugbug.operaunite.com/Projects/content/KMFILES )For Current I use..
setpref(INT,"browser.cache.check_doc_frequency",2)
***It never checks the cachesetpref(BOOL,"network.dns.disablePrefetch",true);
setpref(INT, "network.dnsCacheEntries",0);
setpref(INT, "network.dnsCacheExpiration",0);
***No DNS!***And 100%
setpref(BOOL,"layout.css.visited_links_enabled",false);It's better to use my browser, you can just delete it it you don't like it.
Use the 1.6NS version!!Info is at:
( http://home.dbdbdugbug.operaunite.com/Projects/content/KMFILES/A_KMFILES_HELP.ht... )If I get an "oops" I just "Force Reload" the page.
And I go on!
With most of the settings on, but UN-check the settings.
Cache-Mem on
Cache-Disk off
Secure-HighIf you have a hard time just un-check the "Cache-Never"
But if you get an oops, turn it back on & just Force Reload a lot!Anyway! Thats how I run. I get attacked a lot on different websites.
I have to lock it all up!Also keep this link handy ( http://network-tools.com )
If you are attacked, something funny going on just ping them to hell & back!
Also with the other tab on youtube play a Bill Hicks video as you ping.
Get it in the feed. It messes with them! LOL!!! - 5 months ago

Thanks for the info. I only have this problem with Current from time to time. I use Trend Micro as my anti virus program and it deletes all tracking cookies on a daily basis and also prevents me from going to unsafe website. However, it just seems that Current will run slowly every once in awhile. There was one day when the whole site was down and they then switched it to Tumblr until they got the site up and running again.

Hey Jan how are things in your neck of the woods by the way? Things moving along pretty good folks getting back to a normal routine ? Homes and busisness being rebuilt? I saw a lot of folks still without power thats got to be rough being on the east coast during the winter.

My town is better than it was. We still have some debris but on the whole compared to other towns that were totally destroyed we are much better. FEMA is still here and there are still places where flood damage and oil seapage need to be addressed. We also had an oil spill in the bay I live not far from and the effects of that are still unknown.The emotional toll however is a bit worse. I have cried more in one month than in years before seeing so much loss and people still without power, heat, food and a place to live. But we are strong people here and we will get through it. But again, the emotional hit due to the fact that I have lived here all of my life is going to take a bit longer to heal, if it ever does and the knowledge it may well have been prevented is hard to take.

I have been dealing with the effects of Hurricane Sandy emotionally and wracking my brain trying to understand why business as usual continues when we see such Earth altering changes occurring. It has made me incensed but I admit at times a bit coarse in my expression. I don't know how else I can explain it but that I am feeling hopeful yet hopeless at the same time about it all and it has been a conflict I am dealing with. The outpouring of support from my friends is a great help. Thank you to all of you. I don't know how much time I will be spending here in the next year, but I will never forget this place and the people here who do care.
