Attention All Gun Nuts: Why Your Guns Can't Save You From The Apocalypse!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Listen here, gun nut Billie Joe Bob (no offense to anyone named Billie, Joe, or Bob). Kent State of course was a tragedy, tell you what, I'll do ya one even better, the 1993 Waco (TX) massacre of the branch Davidian's and David Koresh.
The "authorities" could have handled the situation in Waco in a entirely different manner, most (if not all) of those people's lives could have been saved, in other words, they did not have to go all para-military and shit, they chose to, I will tell you why.
The situation in Waco, was used as a public demonstration (just as was the dropping of the second bomb on Nagasaki Japan at the end of WWII, Japan having already offered surrender) of power and authority (both bombs being meant quite deliberately to scare the living hell out of the Russians- which it did), the point, is a U.S. citizen must relent to two distinct reality's of living in a Plutocracy.
Relent to reality number 1.
Whether you are a third world nation, an individual, (remember Leonard Peltier?) or a group of paranoid and xenophobic gun nuts hole-up on some "compound" if the US government wants your ass "taken out" your ass is dead, pure and simple, and no matter how many assault rifles you, your family, or your other gun nut friends have, it pales in comparison to the power the U.S. government can wield against you.
Now that were past talking about defending oneself from a military confrontation with the military, that only leaves a defensive confrontation with your fellow citizens, this is a lost cause as well.
The very first thing that comes to mind, are those fuckin' "preppers", I have read about them, and watched on TV their mad max doomsday efforts to protect themselves and their loved ones from a mass zombie apocalypse. there are a few simple factors (such as something called objective reality, that most crazy people tend to have problems with) that make their efforts prone to failure, a very simple one in this case, is numbers.
Relent to reality number 2.
Let's say your hold up in your "compound" the social apocalypse has occurred, and now roving bands of desperate starving people are coming to your home (bear in mind that these people in this mad max scenario will also have guns) when you and your family or friends decide to open fire, you may kill or seriously wound several of them, hell, you may even kill them all.
But the point is, after that group of desperate people,- assuming you survive the first one-, there will be another, and then another, and then another.
After all this fire fighting, it's only statistically probable that several of your own people have either been wounded or killed and besides all that, inevitably, sooner or fucking later you WILL run out of ammunition yourself, not to mention food stuffs, medical supplies etc, so again, it's only a matter of time before the desperate hoards overtake you in your "compound" and you, and your fellow gun nut's asses will be dead, because in practical terms, all the fucking prepping in the world cannot prevent that eventuality, it's just a matter of time.
If I where you, I would seriously consider what I have just said, and consider a different (and realistic) course of action, you might even want to consider stopping your viewing of the world and humanity in such a hunker down, defensive, paranoid and xenophobic point of view, but a more humanistic one, such as socialism, whose most basic goal, is to avoid having the kind of world in anarchy and social breakdown you so fervently proselytize as humanity's inevitable end in the first place.

There is no second amendment right to revolt against a legally elected government of these United States.
I believe in gun rights but I do not believe that there is an inherent right to create a secret society of gun owners--especially when that secret society encourages the criminally intent in the obtaining of weapons to use against other citizens.
Every weapon used in a crime should be traceable back to its legal owner who shall bare responsibility for its use.

All I have for this crap is the final thought that none of these mewling fearful idots ranting against gun ownership in the US has even an iota of power to bring that to an end. There will be guns in private ownership till the end of this nation or the world which ever comes first. So keep Mewling, your cries are pathetic and your manically fearful imaginings and unfounded accusations of the citizens of this nation who do no more than keep alive the traditions of this nation and honor the intelligence and foresight of the founders of this nation by continuing to own and use firearms in defense of themselves and their loved ones and their property rings only of the uneducated unfamiliar and childish. You will never get what you want here In this great nation. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it and have your selves a fucked and frustrating New Year.

Not really about the apocalypse but since we are referencing guns I thought I would share this little tidbit with others here.
In a characteristic display of hypocrisy, the Journal News in Rockland County, New York, this is the rag that published the names with addresses of pistol permit holders in the county, has hired, OH NO!!!!! armed guards to protect it.http://www.rocklandtimes.com/2013/01/01/the-journal-news-is-armed-and-dangerous/
Keep in mind that this paper is fully in favor of gun control, except I surmise, when they want the protection of a gun. I wonder if V would consider them "gun nuts"?

I'm not against gun ownership. I see nothing wrong with owning one, two or even three legitimate hunting weapons. HOWEVER, this doesn't extend to weapons that were designed specifically to kill people e.g. assault style weapons. If you're so paranoid that you feel the need to stockpile military type weapons then perhaps it's time for you emigrate from the USA to some other country willing to put up with your special kind of insanity. Afghanistan perhaps, where the need is genuine and your paranoia appropriate.
As for the rest of the OP's comments, he is correct. In the event of a catastrophe where you really do need military style weapons, whatever you own won't be enough. If the country survives whatever kind of catastrophe has occurred, there's a near zero likelihood that our present democratic system will survive or that the newly formed government will honor the US Constitution and THEY will take your guns from you. Guns are dangerous and many people who own them, stupid and irresponsible. Unless this magically changes (it won't) those people will be a menace to society, their families and themselves.

"I'm not against gun ownership. I see nothing wrong with owning one, two or even three legitimate hunting weapons. HOWEVER, this..."
Just in case I was not clear about this, I am not anti-gun per-SA, there is nothing wrong with having some rifles or a shotgun FOR HUNTING, but one does not need a AK-47 or such to "take out" a dear, what's apparently going on here, is that there are groups of very unbalanced "people" in this country who think the so-sol-list gobber-ment is coming for them, and that they must be able to "defend themselves" from being sent to the concentration camps (that Obama has been making sure are being built for them) so they do not die.
If this where a movie Mark, it would be very funny, but it not, these "people" really and truly believe such non-sense, and what's even more scary, they vote.
All of this on top of the fact, that it has been shown to them over and over and over again, that even if, I SAY IF, their crazy bullshit where true, they could in no way stop them (the Military) from taking them any time they want. They cannot accept this fact, because they would have to relent, be rational, and stop the craziness of having M.A.R.'s (such as the AR-15 or AK-47) and other mass people killers, for them, every minuet of every day, Mad Max world is JUST AROUND THE CORNER! Just like the return of Christ.

Since the patriot act has come-up let me say something. It was a despicable document when AMERICANS filled with fear allowed the government to illegally take away so many civil liberties----George W. Bush is a war criminal as far as I'm concerned and Obama is drenched in culpability by its continuation. Don't get exited right wingers I remain an Obama supporter, I can disagree with his fuck-ups, we all make them.
Fear caused us to lose much...terrorism is more than just slamming airplanes into buildings, it wins by making us cave to fear, they did the easy part we did the rest.
How does this relate to the topic?
When we allowed the government to take action against the citizenry because we feared muslims where were you heroes? We allowed the government to launch a massive surveillance program on Americans, wire tapping, remember the NSA, Alberto Gonzales? But I know gun loons will take to the streets with your best tea party signs ( riddled with misspellings and grammatical errors) and say hey government SHOVE it----comical now; that because you stood mute when it counted you'll have to do it thousands of feet, if not a mile, far far away from anyone to notice your efforts----Say hurrah for free speech zones, your inaction caused this.
We as citizens are tired of blood flowing free not just in the streets and playgrounds but now in our schools. Too many incidents in 2012 have opened eyes to the dangers of having guns pass hands as easy as kids exchanging baseball cards. Gun supporters had decades to be part of the solution instead they have become more radicalized---they had their chance and blew-it, now they want to scare us from taking action against their insanity.
We stand at historic moment when we can push to right a wrong, it may not be as grand as the civil movement but it is as important. The only thing standing in the way is fear. It's not the brand of fear that gun loons have, anti-establishment anti-logic; it's the fear of standing up to self-interested tyrants who would allow children to be snuffed out in schools so they can play GI Joe, well fuck them and fuck you too if you allow this to take place.

I support the constitution, my friends support the constitution, folks on this site on all sides of the political spectrum support the constitution---I have not called supporters of the constitution child killers, I called gun supporters and let me be clear I refer to the real insane kind complicit in the shooting, not directly but in spirit in the killings.

A child is not born with hate they are taught it. Guns can be used for good or evil. A responsible parent will teach thier children the right way. In the case of Sandy Hook the mother took her son to the gun range and taught him how to shoot a assault rifle to kill.
I'm sure there was some warped ideas the mother(a survivalists) passed on to him. It's the parents fault. The media glorifing violence in movies and television. Alot of them don't have father figures in thier lives. It's not like we're some third world country putting AK-47s in the hands of children. Gun control starts in the home. Since your so smart why don't you take your child out of public schools and home school them that way you can eliminate the risk of him getting shot at school. - 5 months ago

Seems to me that the folks that were on the planes that slammed into the towers pretty much agreed with your statements, that the individual needs to depend on government approved merchants of protection, while those on flight 93 fought for their lives and likely enabled a lot of folks on the ground to live their lives out without having a plane parked on them. So it can be said that the two panes that hit the towers were loaded with the type of uninvolved self centered individuals that long ago let outside forces ursurp their right to defend their lives, with the promise of protection.
Got folks pushin other folks onto the tracks of the subways in liberal land(NYC), nut jobs that should have been locked up long ago, but due to the cost of containment and the valiant efforts by the ACLU, they are enjoying their freedom to push their fellow man to their death. And don't you ever dare hit a handicapped person. So the answer here is to wall off the platforms with doors that align with those on the trains so that the track area is inaccessable, not shut down the use of the subway system...

"So it can be said that the two panes that hit the towers were loaded with the type of uninvolved self centered individuals that long ago let outside forces ursurp their right to defend their lives, with the promise of protection."
That is one of the stupidest, most callous statements I've ever read on this website and I've read some winners.
What exactly are you inferring? That because the people on flight 93 reportedly fought and were killed they were somehow better than those on the other two flights who didn't fight and were killed? First off, you weren't there were you? So you really don't know what happened. I mean other than perhaps what FAUX News told you, you don't have a fucking clue. Right?
First, the debris pattern from Flight 93 resembled that of a plane that exploded in mid air, or more likely one that was shot down, probably by one of our own military jets. It's HIGHLY likely that was what happened given the craziness on that day. But we'll never know for sure and on that basis alone your statement is absurd.
Second, given that this post is about guns, I read your statement to mean if everyone was armed with a gun and defended themselves, things would have turned out differently. Bullshit. What the fuck do you think happens if you shoot a bunch of holes in the pressurized cabin of a jet flying at 35,000 feet? At the very least, all the O2 gets blasted out of the cabin and the temperature drops to match the subzero temps outside the aircraft. This assumes of course the skin of the plane simply doesn't blow out and send it into a death spiral. But no matter, let's arm everyone with guns and increase the chance this will happen, even without a hijacking, by a thousand fold.
Third, wtf does pushing someone onto the tracks of a subway have to do with a liberal agenda? Are you claiming that if the victim had been armed this wouldn't have happened? Bullshit again. Pure speculation. People don't typically announce their intentions in these kinds of matters which are impulsive by nature. If there was a probability the victim was armed, they DEFINITELY wouldn't have been warned. But what the fuck, lets give everyone a gun because dying via gunfire is preferable to dying by being hit by a train. Go away.

All humans are born with evolutionary programing in a small cluster of cells of, a the brain region known as the Amygdala. It serves many important functions. one important to human survival when we lived as hunter gathers is aggression. It's there all the murders, all the wars, all evil deeds that ever happened were born.
We all are subject to it's impulses, nothing has to be thought to make work, what has to be thought is the suppression of the bad impulses and that's what parents and society do. That is where Nancy Lanza failed. As a survivalist she programed her kid for suspicion of others fear and hate of society.
Home schooling is an option for many families and most parents do a great job. I would not do so unless there was a real need, there are too many social interactions that children need to develop. It's folly to think that removing them from public school will keep them safe as they can be shot at the movie theater( Aurora, Colorado movie theater massacre), the mall or even at a place of worship (Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting).
Caving to fear is never the answer, In the aftermath of 9/11 as soon as we regular subway service we got on the trains, often next to muslim women in burqas---it was more important than ever not to let fear win or pollute our minds against others.

"'Preppers' are now just hoarders" - Jim Rome, Thinking they could have a fighting chance against the government or zombies. Pretty simple, the government has better weapons and the zombie hoard outnumbers your ammo supply.

Funny.... See Vietnam, Chechnya, Somalia, on and on for examples of guerrilla fighters beating a super power army with more and better weapons. (Face-palm) Those in power would not be gun grabbing if they were as confident as you in government army victory. I submit most military members will join the resistance rather than forget the constitution oath they took.

Damn Cuz... I'm finna tell you that when the debt grows even more exponentially, how they going to pay for them markass military in the future homie. Yo ass better have some burners and choppers to protect yo self from the inevitable collapse foo.
This is real talk of the future of America;
* Balkanization
* Controller of natural resources will be king (warlord)
* Pillaging/rioting made by poor, lower classes
* Most in the military will end up to the highest bidder (bartering of course, no cash)
* Meltdowns of several nuclear power plants making certain regions uninhabitable
* Starvation in most cities due to shortages of food because no shipment is being sent (most food in cities are at from farms at least 15-25 miles away, even more for some)~ ya catch my drift donchya?

There have already been organized gangs pillaging the countryside not far from me . The first night they removed all the engines from the vehicles and cut phone lines , so no one could get help ... after that , they came for the tools . I believe we all would do better , to work together . Especially , we should remember WHO and HOW we got here . We were ALL robbed by the corporate world .

http://youtu.be/Mc17x9N9-FQ. Solid report on detention with no due process. This is not a left right argument. We should all be up in arms about this legislation.

Jack hole read your Constitution, especially the traitor clause. Americans are entitled to Due process regardless if it is treason or terror any any crime. Man so many have no clue of their rights because they are ignorant of their heritage and history.
SECTION 3. Clause 1. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open court.

Read your C&P 3 times and nowhere in there does it say anything about terror, certainly nothing in relation to the terror we face 226 years after it was written. Whose point are you trying to make, mine?

I'd rather go out like a legend with a gun in each hand like I was at the battle of the Alamo taking out 10 to my 1. Than let someone imprison me in some concentration camp or take my land. They held off a army of 1500 for 12 days with only 189. In terms of ethnicity among the Texian defenders, 13 were native-born Texians, with 11 of these 13 being of Mexican descent. The rest of the Alamo defenders consisted of 41 men born in Europe, 2 Jews, 2 blacks, and the remainder were Americans from states other than Texas.
