More soldier suicides than combat deaths in 2012

The Department of the Army also showed strains, with soldier suicides outnumbering combat-related deaths for the year. http://www.stripes.com/news/more-soldier-suicides-than-combat-deaths-in-2012-1.2....UN2TFqwBQnI.twitter

    • I have spoken with several former soldiers and a few current ones who have told me that they had become very ashamed that they were in the military, once they became aware of what they were really sent abroad for, recognizing that it wasn't to keep America safe. They became horrified that they were part of a mass extermination of many defenseless people living in nearly primitive conditions. They were ashamed that they were firing bullets at people who often didn't have adequate food to eat or clean water to drink. They realized that the U.S. military was engineering enemies for America out of people who don't even know where the U.S. is. The fact that disturbed all of them the most was that they learned that they were there fighting and killing for various corporation's access to primitive country's natural resources. I believe all of this is what tortures so many soldiers into suicide. The lucky ones are those who understand that they have been played by the U.S. government and military, tricked into killing for money, which are things they never would have done if they knew what they truly were doing it for, and forgive themselves some.

      Ak-kk-k-k! Well then:

May suffering one be suffering free
And the fear struck fearless be
May the grieving shed all grief - -
And the sick find health relief.

    • Why is this subject a flatliner? It reminds me of one I set up, "My Ancestors

Perished in Naazi Concentration Camps....... ONE comment. I had expected

more than one person saying, " A lot of people died in concentration camps."

600,000,000 is more than 'a lot.'

From what I've seen as a newer member to Current commentary, people

are interested in politics, science, fashion or random unsual subjects ( aside

from animals or domestic pets). I may be wrong, I've over 200 updates!

      arrg-h-h

This is a subject that needs addressing..... I have cousins and relatives

who needs interviewing, but many are locked in PTSD and yes, there

      are those who have self-delivered.

I hope in earnest when I come back to this webpage, I'll see some

conversation generated ....... if only to light a candle for those souls who

aren't with us any longer and raise our voices in unison. Still my arms will not

      come down ~ ~ ~
