Updated my bookmark and will probably be around your forum more often now that Current is probably cooked.
I heard there is less tolerance for trolls there too. ;^)

Time Warner Cable Inc., the nation's second-largest cable TV operator, announced it is dropping Current TV due to the deal.
"Our agreement with Current has been terminated and we will no longer be carrying the service. We are removing the service as quickly as possible," the company said in a statement.
Previous to Al-Jazeera's purchase, Current TV was in 60 million homes. It is carried by Comcast Corp., which owned less than a 10 percent stake in Current TV, as well as DirecTV. Neither company announced plans to drop the channel. - 5 months ago

Hope you don't mind me using your thread to post this. No sense in posting the story as they'll only take it off.
LANSING, Mich. — Former Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm announced she is leaving Current TV and her public affairs program The War Room following the purchase of the cable network by Al-Jazeera, the pan-Arab news giant that the government of Qatar finances.
"We were told today that Al-Jazeera is the buyer for Current TV," Granholm said in a posting on her Facebook page late Wednesday.

Will visit Ziggy's site in hopes that if they pull the plug here I can still find you all. I'm a little sad, because behind all the words and avatars are real people somewhere out here. I take it you can post news about anything, including that spam stuff I saw earlier; just as long as it's not about Current or their employees.

Yep, real people that we have all invested time and energy getting to know, community. It would be sad to lose that.
Give yourself time to learn the path there. Software may seem intimidating to some who have not done those more flexible forums. It's a bit like Democratic Underground software if you have ever ventured to that site; I like that I can change the appearance when I have signed in. I can pick a scheme that works for me. The white on black of the basic appearance is a bit hard on my old eyes, but signed in, I get to pick the appearance that works for me and that is good.
And you can say hi to KB.

Not sure what to think of AJ taking over, we'll see. Just Really hope that this forum stays the way it is, I woulld miss Most of the people on here. The fact that TWC has already taken it off is No surprise at all. Their views are the same as FOX so unless the New Current becomes so popular that they loose money by not having it they will never carry it. Just glad I don't have TWC. I HATED their service when I had it before anyway.
Good luck to all at Current TV and I hope to keep seeing the same great shows like TYT, The War Room, etc... in the future. - 5 months ago

Mr. Gore sold it to them just to torment Fox and Glenn Beck who tried to buy it but Al told him to go fuck himself. Can we say fuck on Al Jazeera? At least it will still be Al's network, just not Al Gore's.

Al Jazeera already has a strong tradition of “citizen journalism” (think: Arab Spring) so it would not surprise me at all if they were supportive of continuing the user-generated content. It’s a slightly different kettle of fish, admittedly. But, we’ll see. I'm optimistic.

Yes, well, Al Jazeera is not really renowned for its entertainment factor, if that's what people are looking for. They're not exactly a bundle of laughs. But for straight-up, top-notch journalism and breaking news, it's pretty good, and will certainly shake up the US media landscape (if somebody gives them a platform now that Time Warner has chickened out)
