It's a given that the President's children should be thoroughly protected. The NRA goofed because the point here is that there are several private schools in D.C. where the elite of Washington, many of whom are vocal pro-gun control, send their children and they have uniformed and plain clothes armed guards. Who can proclaim armed guards in schools as an insane idea, yet have that very thing for their own children, and not expect to be called out on it?

Since when has any president and their family been in danger, or shot through the head for that matter?
I'm real sure the president is real happy about having armed guards escort his children. What a wonderful world.
I'm sure it would be a great atmosphere for every child to be escorted about by armed guards. They would feel lovely and safe and secure knowing their new situation was only so their parent could take on the challenges confronting them everyday at Wallmart. :-|

i also have seen the ad. In no way has the NRA "attatcked" the presidents children. iT asks a fair question why can the presidents children be under armed gaurd, but our children cannot?

The NRA leadership is at it again with their middle school bullying techniques. I remember a kid who kept pushing me around in the 8th grade. I wound up beating the literal shit out of him and got suspended for 3 days for fighting. The teachers and principals would not do anything about my complaints about this kid so I took some action. Maybe this is what the NRA leadership needs to happen to them.

I really don't know what approval or disapproval of any news organization has to do with this but I will surmise that it is being used as another attack by those who don't like any point of view but theirs. Must be a liberal but I digress.
Obamas children were not named, were not attacked,(I've seen the ad), were not threatened, but only used as a reference. The NRA is posing a very, very good point. Why SHOULD his children be afforded this yet ours be prohibited? This is not to say that his children should not be protected and This is not a campaign for Secret Service protection for all children but a statement that the little people should be allowed to provide protection to their children just as the children of the elite have. Besides, Obama used children when he signed his exec. orders. What's good for the goose.......
Actually I thought it was a good ad. I'm glad to see the NRA fighting back against the lies and tyranny of the left. I think I will send them a contribution. - 4 months ago

The allegation that the NRA "attacked" Obamas children is an out and out lie and one of you so concerned with the truth when Fox says something should have a problem with our BillCorcoran posted this.
IF you will read my post I stated that my post was not to say that his children did not deserve protection. You lefties either don't read or probably read whatever you want and make up the rest. Give it a rest junior. No one is suggesting that that Barrys offspring should be targets but my children do not deserve to be targets either. You are delusional that this is an all left/right issue. This very Progressive Leftist -as you well know- is wholly opposed to an assault weapons ban and any permanent registry that would facilitate government an opportunity to organize any mass seizing of weapons.
I agree that the NRA ad has legitimate purpose and was no attack on BO children. However, there is a heightened need to protect POTUS children over all children. But, screening for weapons in all schools is a sensible approach to the problem.

Use your screen name for something. This is a Constitutional issue that the left has traditionally attacked in an effort to remove. There may be some leftists who do not share the view of the anti gun freedom people but the left generally, which is how I used it, does not like people having guns.
Having people with guns at schools protecting the children is a sensible approach. I understand Lanza shot out the locked doors to gain access to the school. Go ahead and screen for them you will get no disagreement from me. You and I are pretty much in the same room on this. I am just not willing to sacrifice my children for the benefit of Obamas. They all deserve protection.

The NRA's argument is a weak one, but a valid one. All president's children are protected by armed guards because of the greater risk posed to a president's children, and the effect any armed murder or kidnapping could have on the president's ability to focus on the affairs of State. Yet, since we know that schools are targets for violent and lethal actions, including bombings (which no gun law can stop), why are our children less valuable than those inside government buildings and courtrooms which screen for weapons, or those at airports who are screened for weapons. Too many want to ignore alternative solutions to protecting school children from gun violence, which undermines the nation's ability to preserve this nation as it was created.
