I decided to take a look at Why the U.S. Chamber of Commerce seems to have so much say in our government, it's policies, how it's executives get to be the executives, and just who and what they are, exactly. After reading the information in Wikipedia, I was truly astonished. They are NOT a part of our government which their title suggests. In fact, they are nothing but another group of conservative lobbiests. The largest group of lobbiests with the most funding, and probably the primary reason why the people's hands continually seem to be tied on truly important legislation. In my town the manager of the Walmart was on the Chamber in the town.
A Walmart manager gets a 130% sales bonus every year.

They also suggest changes and modifications in various laws to make them more practical and useful. They organize various meetings and call ministers and important officials for an open discussion of various issues concerning the business. Some chambers also print different kinds of periodicals for the benefit of their members."

To answer your question, sadly, yes, many people don't know this. They believe because it has U.S. in the front of their name, they are somehow related to one of the cabinet posts. And yes, they are definitely an advocate for the big money enterprises. That's why I added the link to the Wikipedia low-down on everything about this "Chamber." Basically, it's as diabolical as the move "The Star Chamber," but instead of judges going after those who would walk on serious crimes, this Chamber goes after the destruction of our economy for the enrichment of the elite. It is a heartless organization, a lobby group for the big and powerful, not only here, but world-wide.
To think that the Attorney General keeps harassing little insignificant young individuals while leaving these killers to conduct their business inimpeded is unbelievable. Is this just another example of an organization that is "untouchable?"

No doubt about it dirtman. I just heard today that the Pennsylvania conservatives are already working on redistricting for the next election to make sure Dems are not represented fairly. Will they ever quit this s_ _ t? And I'll guarantee the US Chamber of Constipation is helping fund the manuever.
