    • This is why I don't go to the movies much anymore. If it isn't war or propaganda, the movies that are out are just plain stupid.

I can't stomach the endless pre/se-quels and "re"-boots, shows a massive lack of creativity, originality, and yes just plain courage to tell stories that haven't been told. As usual in "merica" it all comes back to holy-dollar-full-of-grace. All about the damn money, makes me sick to my stomach. This country seems to honestly think it'll find the "meaning of life", and actual happiness in a ledger-book...

I agree with everything you said here, MSII. Hollywood has lost all creativity. They make the same movies over and over re: sequles. They don't have any original thought any more.

    • Says alot about the place where "merica" is today, happily, mindlessly eating up the propaganda-pablum... As Artemis so correctly says below "Its war-o-tainment in the awesome new bread and circuses , for the American public!"
      I couldn't agree more!

I wouldn't be remotely surprised if people are already "disappearing". We were (and still are, no doubt) in bed with those kinds of governments all over the world, certainly wouldn't surprise if it's being done right here.

    • of course they do.

you know of any society in which the powers that be dont manipulate common perception?

this shouldnt be news, especially when the cia literally makes their business about information and disinformation.

I'm a proud Progressive "Leftist", and I definitely have no great luv for Whoreywood.... I find the "movies" more disappointment then anything else these days, lack of creativity, lack of originality, the so-called "actors" these days... don't hold a candle to so many of those that came before. Mostly just flesh, pretty faces, and muscles (the men all seem to be mandatory muscle-bois these days, can't be a "star" as a male "actor" without having .01% body-fat and being buff, the women have the same body-fat requirements, and the obligatory boob-jobs).

I always wished they'd REALLY made The Lord of Light movie (which I believe is the movie they were using as a front if i remember about this correctly), it's a excellent classic sci/fi, but it's also one of those books that's believed to be impossible to turn into the typical Whoreywood 2-hour movie. There's far too much going on, too much background even just explaining the setting to the audience. I imagine HBO for instance could do it justice with a big-budget mini-series type of treatment, probably the only people these days who could.
