On Wednesday, the Department of Homeland Security, along with a SWAT team and Bernalillo County sheriff’s deputies raided the home of Robert Adams in Albuquerque, New Mexico and, according to a federal search warrant affidavit the raid seized nearly 1,500 firearms from the man’s home and business. However, no charges have been filed against him, despite the fact that court documents reveal that agents had been watching Adams for years. http://freedomoutpost.com/2013/02/dhs-raids-homeowner-confiscates-nearly-1500-gu...-

Removal of markings on collector's firearms lowers the value. Not all firearms have serial numbers. Before 1968, cheaper firearms were routinely made without serial numbers. Such as single barreled shotguns and .22 rifles. There are legitimate collectors with large numbers of firearms in our Country and they do not pose any security risk. I hope he does well in having his collection returned, if he is innocent of any illegal activity.

this is what patriot act and ndaa means. it's not Bush that uses, or Obama that uses these laws.. its a DHS fed, its a contractor working for FEMA.. it's criminals in government that will use law. just like Disorderly Conduct is so vague only a criminal with a badge would use it..

This guy broke zero laws, probably won't be charged, but they'll keep his guns. Mostly vintage Mausers, 5 shot bolt actions. Worth 3 to 5 hundred each.

That's why they want the background check so they can put in a black list.

What the heck was the probable cause for the warrant? Why were the thugs harassing this guy? What were the allegations of bad doings that lead to this?

I would think the illegal guns found in Canada would be reason to search his home.

Oh I bet they are. I wonder what the results of that investigation will be. I am more than a little skeptical.

Possible but were they guns registered in Canada and he did not bring them into the U.S.? This guy was investigated for years and they have not charged him with anything. I can get p.c. for a warrant out of thin air just as well as these DHS clowns but this seriously smells.

It takes year to get enough info to convict some of these crooks. I don't like it any more than you do but this looks legal to me.

"The guns were also not properly marked possibly to make the guns more valuable and to avoid paying high import taxes, investigators alleged.
However, a bigger concern is that no markings on the guns and missing documents mean the guns are not traceable by law enforcement."The Second Amendment refers to this as "a well-regulated militia."

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED."
(emphasis added)
Why don't you quote the full language of 2nd amendment next time?

Do you know what "the militia" is? Every freeman able to grab their gun.
Reading the full text of the 2nd amendment clause, not only does everyone have the guaranteed right to own a gun, but has the duty to own one as well. And states should be responsible for seeing to it that each citizen owns a gun, knows how to use it, as well as being drilled as a militia fighting force, in order to keep a state secure and free from tyrants.
That's the language if you want to follow it.

'"The guns were also not properly marked '
All guns have serial numbers. The story says nothing, that I saw, about removal of serial numbers. I'm not sure what this means.
2A does not refer to this as a "well regulated militia". Can you at least please be correct. - 3 months ago
