These are the times that try people's souls!
A friend of mine, forced retired by Wisconsin State Governor, Scott Walker,
( I call the governor, The Walkin' Crude), this friend used to work for the
City of Oak Creek, Street Division, Highway Dept.
Long story on the damage the governor of Wisconsin did to the working
class.

Nevertheless, this friend......... to make ends meet, is now searching for
another job as he's too young to collect SS yet, but his severence check
from the City of Oak Creek had been cut in half (due to Walker's facist
tactics). No Unemployment Compensation rights. Friend already tried
to apply. No go.

He retained his insurance from the City, which also had been screwed
around with by Scott Walker -- basically, Walker gave the City of Oak
Creek the right to give lousy alternatives to their employees. Walker
took away the City's Union right to bargain.

The City of Oak Creek, with Walker's authoritive 'go-ahead', notified
its' employees they could either retire early with BIG cut in pay, or
stay, with BIG cut in pay.

The insurance company then saw their advantage to change what
was once an easy insurance plan for O.C. employees. Now, one
has to pay-out-of-pocket for any Rx medications..... then wait 4
months for reimbursal.

Back to the job search......... after looking everywhere possible,
Lamer's Bus Lines was/is offering part-time positions as drivers for
school bus routes first, then the travel tour coach buses.

Former O.C. employee, who had worked for Highway Dept., Streeet
Division, already has a license that enables him to drive large vehicles.
Snow-plowing - being paged at all hours of night, off-work hours,
utility trucks, garbage trucks.........this was all a former part of my
friend's work duties.

So now? Hanging in Limbo, while Lamer's puts him through the
paces for part-time drivin', of physical, road test, memorize school
bus routes. That all comes first.

This friend is Special Needs, so has to daily take a regime' of
head meds. Lamers immediately wanted all info from his shrink
faxed to them. More Limbo Land, while awaiting word on whether
this will be adequate. No encouragement on whether he will get
the part-time position or not.

BTW.........the wages for Lamers suck. School bus route driving -
pick-up and drop off, is only a $1.00 more than travel coach tour
driving. $14/an hour for school bus - $13 an hour for travel coach
driving.

Now I ask you. Recvoery demands more and better jobs. WHERE
ARE THEY ?? !!

This is not an isolated case, I am certain. We're red, white and
screwed.
