Chris Dorner Dead: Killed By Police Sniper Or Stopped From Leaving Burning Cabin ?

Christopher Dorner Shootout - Cops say "Burn It Down"

After an unbelievable shootout between Chris Dorner and the police in Big Bear, CA on Feb. 12, the alleged police killer is reported to have been killed by a local sheriff’s department sniper.

The original hope was to take Chris alive, but after a war zone-like shootout, a standoff, and the fire, Chris is reported to be dead, though this hasn’t been confirmed. Neal Barton, the news director for a NBC affiliate in Texas, tweeted, “We have confirmation from the Los Angeles Police Department the ex-cop from LA was shot and killed by a local sheriff’s department sniper.” After multiple attempts to force the wanted man out of the cabin with tear gas and a flame filled engulfing of the cabin, the police have done everything in their power to make sure they got their man. And they it looks as if they have, as Chris Dorner is now reported deceased.

    • I could never condone the actions played out by Chris Dorner. I am glad he hesitated to use lethal force against those he considered non-combatants and I am appalled that he targeted innocent relatives of people he felt had crossed him.

With out throwing around too much detail(PM me and I can elaborate), a family member of mine was engaged to a narcotics officer on the east coast who died under awkward circumstances. He had made a claim to an internal investigation team that many of his coworkers were taking money to turn a blind eye. A few weeks later he was found next to his vehicle with two "self inflicted" 9mm wounds to the neck and head(while on duty). As a former marine he kept an "oh shit!" gun in his trunk(7.62x39), and that was in his lap when the back-up he had called in finally arrived. This incident was filed as suicide by the local coroner and dismissed as PTSD from Desert Storm.

Dorner was wrong in his actions, he should have pursued the proper avenues if he had a legitimate claim against his coworkers. Filing breach of duty claims against coworkers shouldn't invoke fatal responses from any side. When socially imbalanced power is in the job description, then the job should have clear public(or at least a properly distanced external entity with complete) oversight. Righteousness is not a perk when you're hired, it is a characteristic that should be cultivated in the industry. This does not seem to happen as often as it should.

A good judge of the nature of a nation is its treatment of its prisoners, the actions of its criminals, and what it considers illegal. I think the USA can spend a bit more time reconsidering the 1st and 3rd. Based on both fundamental constitution and the ideal progressiveness that we find so appealing today, a compromise that increases liberty and decreases crime can be found. Another option is formidable executor-of-law's to fight cases in a thunder-dome both locally and federally(betting on the legal repercussions of a physical caterwaul would be off the hook so we can assume Vegas is down).

    • Dorner could have walked out of the cabin with his hands up and the LAPD would have shot him point blank in the head on national television. LAPD is one of the most corrupt police forces in America and they won't want anymore dirt coming had Dorner been allowed to stand trial.

Do you really believe Dorner thought he was going to come out alive? Remember, he was one of them just a couple years ago so he must have realized his time was up. Why didn't they try negotiating with him for at least a minute before they opened up the Gates of Hell on him? They had him surrounded with...it looked to me...hundreds of officers. He wasn't going anywhere and odds are he would have ended his own life...or maybe...he might have surrendered and then his story would have poured out on the front pages of the newspapers and televised for months to come.

And they certainly didn't want that!

When the police forces throughout this country look and act like storm troopers, this is what we get!

This is what I posted on cpad's thread on this story a few days ago-

"Here's a man who has lost his mind and shot and killed people and needs to be stopped.

But will the cops do all they can to capture him without killing him? NO, I bet they - as they ALWAYS DO - will "take him out" with 10000000 rounds, and /or S.W.A.T. teams, snipers, the army, tanks, you name it, because that's all they know, EVERYTHING has to be extreme overkill, like a bad B movie, everything's become a fucking para-military style operation, even if it where only a kitty cat stuck up a tree.

      Wait and see."

Love ta say I told ya so, told ya so.

Buckeye, I'm with you. Time and again I have seen police stand-offs on the 6 o'clock news and in every single instance, there were negotiators present asking them to tell their story. I did not hear one single person yell to him not to let it and this way, and the thought that those gun-happy bastards could not wait him out, with their night vision goggles and all that crap, if they had wanted to take him alive they could have. This was an execution to keep him quiet.

I was praying that he'd call an attorney to get assistance to turn himself in but he didn't. I think by this time had the cops not killed him, he'd probably have turned the gun on himself.

But either way, now we will never know the truth of what drove him to this. It will all be buried in a super cops cover-up. Such a shame.

Like minds think alike is all I got...I knew what the outcome was going to be when first I heard the name Christopher Dorner and his reasons for going rogue.

And it's not like I'm a prophet...anyone should have seen the writing on that proverbial wall.

Those bloodthirsty cops would NEVER have permitted an attorney to get within a mile of that cabin!

      IMHO...

What we have witnessed is a new "branch" of the military. USN, USMC, Army, Air Force and now the FOPP...which stands for the Fraternal Order of Paramilitary Police.

I said that long before he went to the cabin. I said that at another blog when this thing first exploded on the net. By the time he was cornered in the cabin, I knew it was lights out for him.

Oh, and I have something to tell you. I just posted this at Thom Hartmann's site:

And now a new book entitled "The Terror Factory" by Treavor Aaronson has come out that shows how the FBI is finding poor, angry muslims (possibly with mental health problems), and enlisting them to carry out terrorist acts in this country in order to justify their jobs. The author, who is an investigative reporter, says that in all probabiliy there are no more than a handful of actual terrorists here at any given time who actually have the means and ability to carry out a terrorist attack. But when there are none here at the time, the FBI uses entrapment to create one by providing them with the bombs or other devices, and the means to carry out an attack so they can rush in and stop it, and of course, take credit. The ones they pick are ones who would not have the means or ability to carry out such an attack on their own but for the training and coaching and encouragement of the FBI. The muslim usually pleads guilty and that's the end for him. HOW SICK IS THIS! And they have a $3 Billion budget so they have to do "something" in order to maintain that budget. This country is off its rocker.

So when the President says that the threat here in America is real, is he being lied to or are we?

Will we ever be able to stop this insanity? I'm not holding out a lot of hope. On the one hand we have a plutocratic fascist government entangled with a police state, and with Brennan at the helm (should the Senate decide to give him a pass), we may well be headed to a military state. And we all know what happens to any of the cops or agents who may blow the whistle..........

The LAPD is a snakepit; it always has been! Now, it's time to follow up on the officers that attempted murder on the two paper girls! The Rule of Law in the US is gone; there is no possibility of this having a peaceful end. The Real Entertainment is yet to come.when the LEO thugs in California start trying to confiscate assault weapons! Thanks Monty!

      "Thanks Monty!"

Who in their right mind would want to be Monty's neighbor?

Is he related to Alex Jones? Their ignorant hatred sounds the same to moi.

How the news broke right before President Obama was to give the SOTU address where he was to make the case for tougher gun laws is called poetic justice.

It proves the fact that you just can't trust anyone to possess military-style weapons...not even ex-cops! Let alone the ones still wearing "blue".

So, how does this episode fit into your definition of who should own weapons of massive killing potential, eh?

    • Uh huh....memories of Waco, Texas, comes to mind.

Hey, aren't the Republicans grilling President Obama for being judge, jury and executioner for going after "bad guys" overseas by using drones?

What about that paramilitary force we call police, eh? Don't they remind you of a runaway vigilante "It's us versus them" organization who sees anyone who isn't wearing "blue" as the enemy and on a daily basis passes judgement on our streets by sentencing anyone who opposes them to death?

They must think they have a license to kill...whoever and wherever they so decide.

Except this time it was one of their own that turned on them.

But then again, there's a mindset out here in the world that condones violence. Perhaps even enjoying it.

I wonder if the powers that be want us to be fighting and killing one another. Why else would those who profit from violent acts want weapons of massive killing potential to be so readily available to the general public and to carry them wherever they wish?

Then there's the "crowd" that fears everyone, including their neighbors, friends, family and coworkers, let alone strangers...enough to have the need to go about their day armed and loaded for bear.

Thank gawd I don't see my fellow human beings that way.

HOW MANY CASES LIKE THIS IN LA DID DORNER HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF ?
10 Metro Atlanta Police Officers Arrested In Federal Corruption Investigation.
      ATLANTA —

Ten current and former law enforcement officers across several metro Atlanta agencies have been charged in an undercover police corruption investigation.

Federal agents from the FBI and ATF made most of the arrests Tuesday morning. Channel 2 Action News crews were at the FBI Atlanta office as several suspects were taken into custody. They are accused of taking thousands of dollars in payoffs to drug dealers.

“The breadth of the corruption here is very disturbing,” North Georgia U.S. Attorney Sally Yates said in a 2 p.m. news conference.

She said it all started with an investigation into an identified gang more than a year ago. A gang associate, working with law enforcement, put out word that the gang was in need of dirty cops.

“He got a lot of takers from police officers all over town,” Yates said.

    • Well, it is either Dorner or 250 pounds of charred manure. Who cares how he died. He was cowardly scum who shot innocent people in the back. It is no coincidence that Dorner was a Liberal. Many of the recent mass shooters have been hateful Liberals or insane, or both. Thank God more Liberals do not have guns, or there would be even more violence.

    • Not that a self proclaimed Rambo and psychotic should get an advocate on any level, but I'm inflicted by a case of devil's advocacy if the population is too imbalanced. Dorner's murderous actions completely invalidated any "name clearing" he claimed to pursue. That being said, suicide by police is different than self inflicted wound. He shouldn't have been given the gratification of a shoot out; stalemate hunger would have undermined his interdiction just like his actions belied his cause. Glad no one else will be hurt now that this is over.

    • Taking a criminal like this alive can benefit society by providing insight on the external environment and internal dynamic that results in one of these episodes. I think there was a path this man could've walked that ended well for all involved if his emotional shortcomings were nurtured to a sustainable level. Unfortunately the soft sciences rarely have an opportunity to study these outliers, and as a result, the symbiotic approach is not realistic. ...Or it could be that crazy people are going to do crazy things by design, no one knows until more data can be collected.

    • They had no intention of taking him in alive. A dead man can't talk. Hopefully the federal investigation will uncover something. It will probably take independent reporting to uncover the corruption though. I'm sure they've already started burning any kind of paper trail. At least he opened people's eyes to the corruption.

Is it common practice of police now to shoot first and ask questions later. Even the most ruthless killers get a fair trial. They brought that guy in who shot up that movie theater in colorado alive and numerous others. That's how we find out what the hell was going on and if there was anything else this person did we may need to know.

James Holmes surrendered by his own initiative. Chris Dorner shot at every police officer he ran across for the past few days. There is no comparison.

Yea he was probably wacked out staring into the sky easy takedown. Dorner probably didn't want to be taken alive. As of now we are not even sure it's him. Most or all evidence has been burned up and it could take a couple of days to identify the body. They are still actively searching until then. Which would give him a chance to cover more ground. It's all speculation now until CSI does their work.

You're right Rickey. Holmes allegedly shot 36 people, killing 12 of them while Dorner shot 6, and killed 4 or 5. There no witnesses to either shootings. No comparisons. Holmes never surrendered. They found him sitting in a car outside of the theater out of his mind not even remembering what happened. They wanted him alive. He was the perfect patsy. Mentally ill starchild. Kangaroo court. Done deal. Doner was a grown man and a high ranking sniper with a good military background. Honorable discharged. He was too good to be discredited. Again #84, you are exactly right. No comparisons whatsoever.

“There no witnesses to either shootings.”

Lol what? Of course there were witnesses.

“Holmes never surrendered. They found him sitting in a car outside of the theater out of his mind not even remembering what happened.”

I don’t think you know what surrendered means. If the police made an attempt to arrest Holmes and he surrendered without incident as everyone and their mother reported than he most certainly surrendered.

“They wanted him alive. He was the perfect patsy. Mentally ill starchild. Kangaroo court. Done deal.”

Oh god it didn’t take long for this to descend into conspiracy theory land. So basically you think he just happened to be at the theater that night as the video evidence proves? He also just happened to legally own all the weapons the killer used during the shooting? The booby trapped apartment was also a coincidence? He just happened to abandon his only place of residence after turning it into a death trap and decided to kick off his new life as a voluntary homeless person by watching a superhero flick?

“Doner was a grown man and a high ranking sniper with a good military background.”

He wasn’t a high ranking sniper. Dorner received a rifle marksman ribbon with an M16.

“He was too good to be discredited.”

Except he was several times and subsequently fired from the LAPD. Whether or not his claims were true he certainly did not hold evidence damning enough to warrant his assassination as people tend to imply. If there were truth to that narrative then it doesn’t make ANY sense for the police to wait until Dorner went on the offense, or was in the news, or garnered all that public support by murdering innocent people loosely connected to his firing.
