SEOUL: North Korea announced Friday it was voiding non-aggression pacts with South Korea and severing a hotline with Seoul, hours after the UN Security Council adopted tough new sanctions on Pyongyang.North Korea "abrogates all agreements on non-aggression reached between the North and the South," the state-run Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea said in a statement.
"It notifies the South side that it will immediately cut off the North-South hotline," said the statement, which was carried by the official Korean Central News Agency.

well, he can't really arm South korea, he hasn't really the army power to win, China will never support him while SK has a lot of support.
He will be made in few days, NK is such an awful place, his people will welcome any changes, his armies will surrender at their first occasion - 2 months ago

I really hope N Korea stops posturing for the sake of their people. Seriously if they drop a nuke we will tun that place into a glass parking lot so fast it will make Kim Jong Un loose his appetite!

It's definitely what they've been wanting to do for at least a year now I think. A guy I know signed up for the army last year and the first place they sent him after basic was the DMZ in South Korea. When I heard that he was sent there instead of Afghanistan I knew our military might be gearing up for something.

Things have gotten to a point I suspect they are trying to keep a number of things just on the edge, ready to go - because we have to make sure that money keeps flowing to the military/military-industrial! It's part of "the system", right-wing-welfare....

So last time I checked the Korean War never truly ended. Only armistice. So them tearing up that non-aggression pact with our ally (South Korea) means we're at war now. Right?

Tearing up nonaggression pacts and cutting hotlines are simply acts of schoolyard brinksmanship. The time to worry will be when they tear up the Armistice, which is the document that actually ended the war without actually ending it...
Of course, if anyone invades South Korea or Japan, we've already bound ourselves with multiple treaties to come to their defense, and our economies are so intertwined that allowing them to go undefended would probably bring about a global economic meltdown.
