I assume this will make the health insurance companies angry. I always thought they were the motivation behind the ban in the first place. I agree with Paratus, except with the caveat that it is the corporations that are the puppeteers behind such shady laws enforced by puppet governments. It is not the government's job to force people to live by health standards that make health insurance companies happy.

Thanks for the support. I don't care who is behind it. In my opinion, neither corporations or governments have this authority.

Good. New York state, and the city, seems to have a problem with large capacity anythings. This is yet another area that the government does not need to be in. Soda is no good for you and can be linked to a number of health problems but it is not the gov. duty or responsibility to "fix" this.

Instead of banning the large sodas, tax the shit out of them and use the money for obesity and diabetes research.

This is a mayor issue not the police. The cops don't care if you have a 10 oz or 100 oz soda.

Through extensive research I have discovered a fatal flaw in banning large sodas to fight obesity. It turns out that it is possible to buy two or three small sodas, and still take in the same amount of calories. Imagine that.
P.S. In my part of the country, we call it soda, but I know some folks call it pop.

I hope she isn't banned. I think that it was an honest mistake. I didn't know what the term meant until the Jessie Jackson incident. People on the East Coast are familiar with the term because of the large population of Jewish people who reside there.
People use slang and jargon quite often without knowing the true meaning behind the word. - 2 months ago
