Why Journalists Fear NDAA. Amber Lyon, Harvard Law School 2013

Radical_Centrist
This is an excerpt from Journalist Amber Lyon`s speech at Harvard Law School on Feb. 27, 2013. Investigative journalists who cover those the U.S. Government deems ¨terrorists¨ fear they could be indefinitely detained under the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) in retaliation for giving a voice to the other side.

The NDAA allows for the indefinite detention of U.S. citizens without trial until the end of hostilities and is perhaps the most egregious violation of the U.S. Constitution in history.

    • I answered the door a while back returning a laptop computer to the father of a
friend of my young son in high school. His daughter could not come and get it
herself. As I handed it over a small new car pulls up along with a new van full of
men. They opened the sliding door and stared at us. It reminded me of the
movie scene in the film "War Games" when the teenager was pulled into a van
that pulls up and puts him in. We all stared at each other the man in amazement.
To calm him down I said that we have a lot of crime in my neighborhood. They were the police. The vehicles then left and the man went away. The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge in Dayton,Ohio set me up for the feds to get me. I have
never done anything illegal. I as a Dayton Volunteer have publicly called for
Judicial reform, Social Services reform and Law Enforcement reform in Dayton
and Montgomery County starting in 1990. The results have destroyed my life
and ruined my health. I started volunteering in 1969 personally trying to make
a difference, take a stand for human rights and justice for all. I did not know at
the time that society and the Catholic Church really did not mean it. I know now.

    • Obama is more authoritarian then Bush was and the NDAA will be used to silence anyone who speaks out against him and his administration! The American people are in the dark as to NDAA and what it means thanks to the corporate media blackout! First we have the Patriot act followed by other unconstitutional laws and the NDAA is the icing on the cake which was already in place! The America we all knew is dead and the Constitution has been shreaded and the people remain silent and cowed! Obama isn't even an American citizen and the people remain silent! America is dead and in it's place we have a police state!

    • The Corporate Media has a blackout on this new law, the american people are not aware of this, by the time they will find out it's going to be too late. What is very funny is that none of the liberals that come here to this website say anything about it.

      The End.
P.S.(MMMMEEEEOOOWWW...stay thisrty my friends drink XXs)

    • Our media is a joke. Most of them are nothing more than corporate whores--more interested in garnering favors and access to the government than doing any sort of real journalism.
